- Lanny McDonald was born on February 16, 1953 in Hanna, Alberta, Canada. He is an actor, known for Miracle Story (2000), NHL: Calgary Flames - 10 Great Playoff Games (2009) and Swift Current (2016).

- Played for the Calgary Centennials and the Medicine Hat (Alberta) Tigers of the Western Canada Hockey League (Now Western Hockey League) from 1970-1973 .
- Shortly after winning the Stanley Cup with the Calgary Fames in 1989, he announced his retirement as a player.
