Everett Grant has beef with Russian mobster Maxim Vasiliiv played by Oleg Prudius or if you’re a pro wrestling fan, Vladimir Kozlov. It seems Everett’s security company has been cutting into the Russian mob’s profits and they’re not happy about that. Since Phoenix is an action film, they decide to settle it with a fight to the death. That would be Everett’s death via a bullet to the head made to look like suicide.
WWE wrestler Natalie Eva Marie plays Everett’s daughter Fiona, Phoenix to her friends. She’s told of his death by General Shackleton. She knows he would never have killed himself and decides to put her hand-to-hand combat trainer’s skills to work finding answers.

We have a really cool video for you to check out today that was tweeted out by Eyes on Cinema, the YouTube Channel “that brings you to the sets, suites & interview halls of some of the most influential filmmakers.” They have tons of cool content on their page, but this video they shared a few days ago is really awesome.
While most of us grew up with The Goonies and its beloved characters, not many people knew who played the character Sloth. The actor was unrecognizable in the makeup used to create the lovable hero. Sloth was played by NFL star John Matuszak, and the video below shows Matuszak talking and testing out the extensive prosthetic and makeup used to transform the actor after having it all applied for the first time.

There are few movies that tap into what it is to be a child, but The Goonies captures it perfectly. It may be adventurous and far-fetched, but that is the adventures we had when we were young. The Goonies: 30th Anniversary Collector’s Edition blu-ray celebrates the undying love that people have for the movie that never seems to age (even if the actors do).
With their homes in danger from the local rich developers a group of friends set off looking for pirate treasure. Little do they know that they will end up being pursued by the evil Fratelli gang intent on stealing it from them.

In 1985, a group of curious kids in the children's adventure film The Goonies took audiences along on their journey to find a pirate's ancient treasure in hopes to save a family home from foreclosure. The four boys and two girls' story led (and continues to lead) children on a wild ride to Sloth's (John Matuszak) island. Goonies was wildly successful, both in viewer ratings and monetarily, and earned $61,389,680 at the box office since its June 7, 1985 release. So what have the kids been up to since director Richard Donner, story writer Steven Spielberg and screenplay

Can you do "The Goonies" without Sloth? That's the big question a lot of fans had after director Richard Donner announced he was working on a sequel to the beloved '80s movie. On one hand, the heroic-but-deformed Fratelli brother isn't exactly the most PC character 30 years later. Plus, the actor who memorably played him, football star John Matuszak, passed away shortly after the original film was released.Video: See Conan O'Brien Dressed as SlothBut, the character is without a doubt one of the most memorable aspects of the 1989 flick, with his "Hey you guys!" quote becoming one of the most famous lines in pop culture history. So ... what do you do?toofab's Brian Particelli caught up with Mikey himself, Sean Astin, at the Atx Television Festival premiere of his new series, "The Strain," last night -- which just happened to be the 29th anniversary of "The Goonies" release. “Heyyy Yooou Guuuuys!!!!”
According to director Richard Donner- the man who brought us Superman: The Movie, the Lethal Weapon series, The Omen, and- of course- The Goonies- a sequel to the 1985 classic in the works. Of course, he can probably form a tag team with Dan Aykroyd, because both have had a penchant for drumming up interest for sequels to Goonies and Ghostbusters, respectively, for many years now. It was recently announced Akyroyd’s pipe dream will become a reality soon, and now Donner seems dead serious about his Goonies sequel.
Unprovoked, and unannounced, while being hounded by a TMZ camera man, he volunteered the following information:
He was asked if he’d ever make a comic book movie- since he’s the man that pioneered the genre back in 1978- and he bluntly said, “If you call ‘Goonies’ a comic book.” When the photographer acts surprised, Donner- again- blankly states,...

It's funny how so many on the Internet love to lament the lack of original storytelling in movies as sequels and reboots dominate the landscape. But mention some movie that was loved during the mid-'80s, when so many of today's movie-obsessed Internet commenters and bloggers grew up, and suddenly it's as if not only is a sequel something they want, but it becomes something to celebrate. Unfortunately your browser does not support IFrames. The latest such unnecessary, but "exciting" development is The Goonies director Richard Donner telling the gossip site TMZ.com, "We're doing a sequel," and when asked who from the original cast is coming back his response was all-inclusive, "Hopefully all of them!" Oh, yes, hopefully. The last time I remember hearing about a possible Goonies II was about seven years ago when Sean Astin made mention of a story that would center around the children of the original cast.

For pretty much all of us here at HeyUGuys, The Goonies was an absolute staple of our childhoods (So much so we even named our beloved website after it!). It was an instant classic quite unlike anything before or since. Talk of a sequel has been circulating for years, but now director Richard Donner himself says that it’s happening.
In an interview with TMZ, Donner was asked if he was planning on making another comic book movie, and he replied:
If you call Goonies a comic book. We’re doing a sequel.
And not only that, but he went on to say that he’s hoping that all of the original cast will return.
The original 1985 classic was of course led by Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Josh Brolin, Jonathan Ke Quan, Jeff Cohen, Kerri Green, and Martha Plimpton, with the late John Matuszak playing Sloth.

Filmmaker Richard Donner has dropped something of a bombshell with news that he's making a sequel to his classic 1985 adventure film "The Goonies".
TMZ was with Donner in person when he confirmed they are doing a sequel. Asked if any of the original film's stars are coming back, he said "hopefully all of them".
Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman, Martha Plimpton, Jonathan Ke Quan, Kerri Green, Jeff Cohen, Robert Davi and Joe Pantoliano starred in the original about a group of kids set out on an adventure in search of pirate treasure that could save their homes from foreclosure.
Two of the original cast members, Anne Ramsey (Mama Fratelli) and John Matuszak (Sloth) have since passed away. Brolin, Astin, Plimpton, Davi and Pantoliano are all still busy working actors to this day. Green only occasionally acts and now produces films as well, Cohen has become an entertainment lawyer, and...

Actors often venture into other fields. Some play it safe and limit themselves to film, going on to become screenwriters and directors. Surprisingly some of the best films of the past thirty years have had actors behind the camera instead of in front.
Then there are actors who aren’t just content with Hollywood. Since the sixties, actors have tried to tackle the world of music and literature. While some have managed to pull of something resembling decent, you can count them on one hand. Yes, most of them have been that bad.
Then there’s the flipside. There are musicians, athletes, and other non-thespians that take a crack at acting with surprisingly good results. Sometimes they’re so good that people are left wondering why they never pursued acting on a full time basis. And sometimes they even win awards for it. Maybe acting isn’t as...

So many of us associate lovable actor Sean Astin with Samwise Gamgee of "The Lord of the Rings" fame, that we forget he was the lead child actor in '80s classic "The Goonies." Remember his adorable awkwardness and brace-face?
Moviefone caught up with Astin as he was heading to Toronto for Comic-Con, and we spoke about why "The Goonies" has never become uncool, whether Sloth was ever scary to him and being a child star in the '80s. Oh, and we also discussed that little "Lotr" trilogy.
Moviefone: This is great. I watched "The Goonies" all the time when I was growing up.
Sean Astin: Tell your parents I said sorry.
No way! They loved it too. I bet you watch with your kids.
I do, and they love it. Except I have to say, they are a bit scared of Sloth.
We all were!
[Laughs] Oh, I know.

Hey youuuuuuu guys!"The Goonies" came out 27 years ago this month -- and today, one of the film's stars celebrates his 59th birthday. As one of the Fratelli Brothers, b-day boy Robert Davi terrorized the title characters on their hunt for One-Eyed Willie's long lost treasure.Since the 1985 flick, Davi played a Bond villain in "License to Kill," appeared in cult classic "Showgirls" and starred on "Profiler." Davi, who sang opera in "Goonies," even released an album of Frank Sinatra covers recently and is currently on tour.Unfortunately Anne Ramsey ("Mama Fratelli") passed away from cancer in 1988 -- and former NFL star John Matuszak ("Sloth") died the following year. But what do Robert and the rest of the cast look like today? In the last couple of years, a spate of films, from Joe Cornish's "Attack The Block" to J.J. Abrams' "Super 8," have named one film as a particular influence: Richard Donner's "The Goonies," the 1985 kids' adventure film that served as part of the 1980s golden age of Amblin, Steven Spielberg's production company. Following a group of working class kids from the 'Goon Docks' of Astoria, Oregon, on one last adventure before their homes are demolished, only to end up on a quest, and pursued by a vicious criminal family, the Fratellis, the film is a rollicking adventure that also had a particular feel for the friendships between kids.
Providing early introductions to people like Josh Brolin, Martha Plimpton, Corey Feldman and Sean Astin, the film's become an enduring family favorite, and as the kids who grew up on it have become directors themselves, its reputation has only grown.

When was the last time you longed to explore a spectacular underground realm of twisting passages, outrageous booby-traps and a long-lost pirate ship full of golden doubloons? It was probably around the same time you last sighed hopelessly about a girl in your class, when social networking sites, mobile phones and I-pods weren’t corrupting your adult life, even if they are pleasant distractions from death, debt and Jeremy Kyle.
There are some, however, that still hold on to that dream. I often wake, head hurting from last night’s Vino, the thought of work buried in the deepest, darkest part of my duvet, asking myself what difference it would make if instead of going to work I would unfurl that mysterious treasure map and head off to Astoria. Wouldn’t it be great to go on a Goonie adventure? Wouldn’t it be great if the Goonies went on another adventure?...

Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama, Assault of the Killer Bimbos, Dr. Alien, Puppet Master III: Toulon's Revenge, Ghost Writer, Circuitry Man, Creepozoids, Dream A Little Evil, Nightmare Sisters, etc. These are all films that 80's horror fans grew up watching either through USA's Up All Night, though Cinemax or Showtime, through their love of either Linnea Quigley or Brinke Stevens, or through looking through the seemingly endless shelves at the good old video stores of yesteryear. Royce Mathew was involved in every single one of these films functioning, as he put it himself, either through "custodial work and production assisting - to (in no order) writing, editing, costumes, props, art direction, construction, directing, producing, sound, special effects and publicity". The summer of 1985. Has it really been twenty-five years. Wow! I don't really feel old, but its amazing that era was so long ago and yet the memories feel like yesterday. I was ten going on eleven and enjoying my summer break. Though my parents wouldn't let me leave my neighborhood with my friends, they always took me to the cinema as often as they could, which is where my love of movies comes from. I consider myself fortunate to have shared some great movie moments with my family and with my parents coming to town to visit me this summer, we hope to have some more.Hollywood still makes great movies today, but the eighties were a time when most of the movies you saw were good. At least they seemed to be good at that early age. Time can often be cruel and with maturity comes the revelation...
