- Short, stocky, bushy-mustachioed Greek-born character actor, who put his fluency with languages (he spoke six) and dialects to good use in British music halls. Early in his career, he was also an operatic singer, billed simply as 'Malandrinos'. For four decades, starting in 1930, he was seen in innumerable small stereotypically ethnic roles on screen.
