- Lowe, along with writer Joseph Jackson, were the first scriptwriters to write dialogue for a sound feature. They wrote four talking sequences of Tenderloin (1928) for Warner Bros. The dialogue was so bad that two of the dialogue scenes were cut after the first week of the movie's run.
