Long before Rob Zombie got his hands on the property, Robert Ginty sat in the director’s chair for Here Come The Munsters, a TV movie that made its debut back in 1995.
One of many re-interpretations of the beloved characters that came along in the wake of the original 1960s TV series, Here Come The Munsters featured all new actors in the iconic roles, with Edward Herrmann (The Lost Boys) playing Herman Munster, Veronica Hamel (Cannonball) as Lily Munster, and Robert Morse (The Loved One) as Grandpa Munster.
Telling the tale of the family’s trip from Transylvania to the United States, Here Come The Munsters aired on Fox on Halloween night in 1995, and the film has long been unavailable to watch outside of low quality, unofficial rips on YouTube. But to our surprise, the official Munsters YouTube channel just uploaded the entire movie in HD for the very first time!

Richard Condon and John Huston’s show is like a gangland version of Moonstruck, bouncing effortlessly between earnest romanticism and cynical satire. Hit man Jack Nicholson is a brass-knuckle Romeo, and Kathleen Turner’s mysterious bicoastal Juliet has nothing but surprises for him. Near the end of his career, Huston’s direction is as assured as can be.

I’m not one for irritable reaching after fact and reason when it comes to TV drama. How does so-and-so afford a flat like that on a part-time superhero salary? I don’t much care. How did thingamabob drive all the way up there to launch that nuke without once stopping for petrol? Couldn’t give a fig.
We just want to be told a good story. TV isn’t real life - pointing out its logistical inaccuracies is a fun pub game at best and pedantically humourless at worst. Few of us...

Sex and violence are never far away from each other in Top Of The Lake: China Girl. That’s hardly surprising for a murder mystery set in the world of the sex trade, but the two aren’t only connected by Cinnamon’s story.
Episode three opens with a monologue from Tony, who confesses to the accidental mid-sex murder by strangulation of a woman he’s picked up from a brothel. It’s fictitious, probably. Or if it isn’t, the story he tells isn’t about our China Girl. Then there are the sex noises Robin hears from Miranda’s apartment, at first indistinguishable from shrieks of pain. Even Miranda’s romantic hailstone story took place...

Fancy a film that mashes up Reservoir Dogs and The Usual Suspects, with a few song and dance numbers? Step this way...
Film is such a diverse medium that it is possible to call yourself a fan without ever venturing out of your favourite genre. Hell, it is perfectly acceptable nowadays to add 'films' to your list of hobbies by watching nothing more than the output of the McU. Getting some people to venture into the wonderful world of foreign cinema can admittedly be a tall order. We’ve all met one, right? The 'I go to the cinema to watch, not to read!' crowd. That’s fine. There is nothing wrong with having your entertainment packaged as you like it.

From Animal Kingdom to Wolf Creek, Snowtown to The Loved One, it seems as though you can’t trust your neighbours down under after all. Tasmanian writer-director Damien Power isn’t likely to change that with his debut feature, a blisteringly brutal horror thriller that will have you crossing out another Australian beauty spot and leaving your camping equipment behind.

All week long our writers will debate: Which was the greatest film year of the past half century. Click here for a complete list of our essays. How to decide in the grand scheme of things which film year stands above all others? History gives us no clear methodology to unravel this thorny but extremely important question. Is it the year with the highest average score of movies? So a year that averages out to a B + might be the winner over a field strewn with B’s, despite a few A +’s. Or do a few masterpieces lift up a year so far that whatever else happened beyond those three or four films is of no consequence? Both measures are worthy, and the winner by either of those would certainly be a year not to be sneezed at. But I contend the only true measure of a year’s...

The actor on being an Australian in Brighton, his love of country and western and being mistaken for Prince
Hi, Noah! What's it like in Belfast?
I'm in Brighton. (1)
Ah sorry. For the surfing?
Not all Aussies surf. But a few reckless types do here. You can get waves off the ruins of the old west pier, where the steel girders stick out.
You've lived over here for ages.
Almost 17 years. I still call Australia home but I'm used to English life. And in a way Australia feels quite foreign to me now, both in an exotic sense but also when you've been away from somewhere for a long time, it's not so much that the place has changed but it's a different era. You're nostalgic for that.
You're a patron (2) of this year's Australian film festival. What do your duties involve?
Not much, really, to tell you the truth.

It was reported on a pretty reliable website earlier this week that The Loved One's Robin McLeavy had landed the major role of the 16t President's wife in Timur Bekmambetov's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Unfortunately, they got this one wrong as the Hollywood Reporter writes that horror veteran Mary Elizabeth Winstead will play Mary Todd in 20th Century Foxs period vampire adventure that goes behind cameras next month in New Orleans. Shell star opposite Benjamin Walker, who plays Abraham Lincoln. Penned by Seth Grahame-Smith, the story revolves around the President's quest to rid the world of vampires, presented as part of the conflict behind the Civil War. History will be rewritten on June 22, 2012.

Here is Sean Furfaro’s recap of Survivor Nicaragua – Episode 13.That sound you heard about 4 minutes into this episode? That was me vomiting.
You knew it was coming. I've warned you for weeks. And now, with tonight's episode being the last one before the Season Finale on Sunday, it's time for the dreaded "Loved Ones" episode. Just look at the picture above, as the Survivors check out the handy new Sony Evo.
What the hell is happening in that picture anyways? Jane looks like she's looking at picture of a fish she can sneak away with and eat on her own, Dan is confused, and Fabio is fixing his hair. Once again, I submit to you, Survivor Nicaragua is a candidate for worst season ever.
My Random Thoughts:

Australian actress Robin McLeavy’s performance in The Loved Ones introduces the audience to a great new cinema lunatic. Sean Byrne’s brilliant little horror film mixes the John Hughes teen drama with David Lynch or League of Gentlemen-style oddness.
Lola (McLeavy) is a demanding daddy’s girl who just wants a boyfriend and the perfect prom. Unfortunately for any man she chooses they’re just not good enough. When she asks Brent (Xavier Samuel) for a date, a white lie turns into a life-changing experience loaded with fear, menace and blood… lots of blood.
At FrightFest back in August during the quiet lull in between screenings, I sat down with Robin McLeavy to discuss her character, starring in a horror film and why, no matter how much I tried, I just couldn’t hate Lola Stone. She’s bat-shit crazy, but quite likeable… in a very weird way.
