With familiar faces from the past, dramatic endings and hints of the future, "Damned If You Do," closed out the 10th season of "NCIS" Tuesday (May 14). It also showed why this series just keeps on going -- it reveres its past while not being afraid to blow things up.
The episode opens with a dream sequence in which Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) is fishing with his late mentor, Mike Franks (Muse Watson, proving once again that death is no impediment to ongoing guest appearances). After some talk about the inadequacies of catch-and-release fishing, Franks pumps gunshots into the water. He vanishes, but Gibbs soon finds himself surrounded by floating bodies that just keep rising to the surface.

Black, Gay and Twentysomething is a biweekly column dealing with dating, race, media, and politics and anything else that comes to my queer negro mind.
I have a confession to make: the Antoine Dodson business of the past few weeks has made me retch in a way that few “internet sensations” have this year or any other year.
In case you somehow missed the story, Dodson (pictured right) is the Huntsville, Alabama man who saved his sister from being raped when a man broke into her bedroom during the middle of the night.
But it wasn't Dodson's bravery that has made him a sensation. It was an interview he gave to a local news station showing an emotional Dodson recounting what nearly happened to his sister.
Call me solemn, but I simply couldn’t muster up enough smugness to laugh at a poor, black, widely assumed to be gay man...

Though it was looking like the underperforming CW series had a chance at survival, the network has decided to pull the plug on Privileged.
Privileged follows the story of Megan Smith (Joanna Garcia), a perky young journalist who becomes a live-in tutor for two wealthy teenage girls (Lucy Hale and Ashley Newbrough). Others in the cast include Michael Cassidy, Allan Louis, Brian Hallisay, Kristina Apgar, and Anne Archer.
Despite positive reviews and buzz, Privileged debuted on September 9, 2008 to just 2.64 million viewers and a 1.2/3 rating/share of the 18-49 demographic. Those numbers weren't great for the junior network and ratings for subsequent episodes fell significantly over the rest of the season.
The network made multiple attempts to boost the show’s audience -- giving it more exposure by rerunning episodes in various timeslot -- but most viewers just didn’t seem to be particularly interested.

It's The Best.Gay.Week.Ever! But In Designer Clothes!
Oh, the irony of having me write a fashion-themed Bgwe! Why so ironic? How about because it's 5 Pm and I'm currently wearing Target slippers, Target lounge pants and a ratty sweathshirt. Did I mention these are my good clothes?
Not fair! I actually shower every single day! Mostly...
Why the sudden interest in fashion? Well, there was Fashion Week having taken place last week in New York and the Oscars in L.A. on Sunday, but I was really inspired by last week's episode of Ugly Betty which ended with Betty finally "getting" that fashion isn't just about expensive clothes but is actually "art" and about taking what's on the inside emotionally, spiritually, etc. and putting it on the outside.
I guess she's feeling wing-y on the inside?
I found that an interesting way to look at fashion and thusly...

Tonight, the CW airs the season finale of Privileged. While some may have been hoping for a nice happy resolutions, the TV show is leaving plenty of cliffhangers. Will the cast and crew return with season two to answer them?
The story of Privileged opens as Yale-educated Megan Smith (JoAnna Garcia) begins working for cosmetics tycoon Laurel Limoges (Anne Archer). She's hired as the live-in tutor for Laurel's twin teenage granddaughters, Rose (Lucy Kate Hale) and Sage Baker (Ashley Newbrough). Megan's ultimate goal is to make sure that the spoiled girls are accepted into a top university. Though the twins seem to have every advantage, it's no easy task. Others in the cast include Allan Louis, Brian Hallisay, Kristina Apgar, Michael Cassidy, Rizwan Manji, Alice Greczyn, Stacy Barnhisel, Melissa Ordway, Ignacio Serricchio, David Giuntoli, John Allen Nelson, Dave Franco, Ally Matsumura, David Monahan, Sharon Lawrence, Andrew J. West, and Steven Culp.

Allan Louis and David Monahan
It’s a gay old affair on tonight’s episode of the CW series Privileged when gay characters Marco (Allan Louis) and Keith (David Monahan) are married in the season finale of the freshman series.
Creator and Executive Producer Rina Mimoun recently told AfterElton.com how the storyline was unfortunately sidetracked last November, and how gay-fave comic Kathy Griffin came to be involved in the big walk down the aisle:
I had no idea that Prop 8 would ever go this way so the whole time we were planning the story we were like, "We’ll do the wedding in La, which will be great because we can make it a location shoot here…" We were so convinced that No on 8 would be No, we were breaking the story as if it were a done deal. And then when it came back I was like "Oh my God,...

We've been keeping up with The CW's critically-adored teen class dramedy Privileged (thanks to Lyle's regular Queerview mentions) since we noticed that gay chef Marco (Allan Louis) was getting some serious screentime along with his partner, Keith (David Monahan).
If you haven't tuned in to check out the story yet, you might want to change your tune next week when Marco and Keith tie the knot, with the help of Olive, a feisty wedding planner played by none other than Kathy Griffin.
A slew of pics from the big day on next week's ep, entitled "All About a Brand New You," await below.

Degrassi: The Next Generation has a long history of prominent gay characters and this season is no exception. Earlier this year we met Riley Stavros, a teenager struggling with his sexuality, unable to accept that he is gay. With an episode featuring Riley set to air this week on The N, we decided to chat via e-mail with Argiris Karras, who plays the troubled young man, to get his thoughts on his role.

AfterElton.com: Tell us something about yourself. How old are you? Where are you from? What do you do for fun? What kind of music do you listen to?
Argiris Karras: I'm 19 years old and I was born in Toronto, Ontario, one of the greatest cities around!
For fun I often chill with my friends and do a whole bunch of random things such as play soccer and video games, watch movies and listen to music.

Getting To Know … Shameless
The love life of gay teenager Ian Gallagher (Gerard Kearns) on the U.K. series Shameless has never been easy. Whether it’s having to steal a bed just so he can have sex with his hot new boyfriend (somehow landing in prison because of it), trying to keep his ongoing affair with a married man a secret, or that fling with a homophobic drug dealer who has a strange sexual quirk (big surprise), something always comes along to make finding love (or just getting laid) a trying ordeal for poor Ian.

This week we speak with Tom Chroust, former head writer of Forbidden Love. Chroust started at the show as an intern in August 1998 and eventually became head writer at Fl from July 2007 to June 2008. (He now is part of the writing team at All That Matters.)
During Chroust's tenure as head writer at Fl he shepherded the internationally loved romance between Christian Mann (Thore Schölermann) and Olli Sabel (Jo Weil). We talked to the out writer via email about that storyline, as well as other plots and characters he enjoyed working on. We also asked him what he wished he could have done differently and lots more!

Continuing today's theme of guest-star mentions, Sharon Lawrence is back as the mother of Megan (JoAnna Garcia) on "Privileged" (8 p.m. Tuesday, Wgn-Ch. 9). Have you noticed that underneath Megan’s perky charm, there’s a fair amount of anger and angst? Well, in Tuesday’s episode, Megan finally unloads some of that on her mother, who skipped out on her family when her daughters needed her most. There’s also a story line about Marco, the chef who works in the same mansion where Megan serves as a tutor for a pair of heiresses. As played by the delightfully droll Allan Louis, Marco...
