The producers behind Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Steve Loter and Rodney Clouden, revealed one big change for Lunella Lafayette in Season 2 of her animated series.
Season 1 served as a fantastic origin story for the 13-year-old super genius and her pet T-Rex, seamlessly introducing the wild concept to audiences. However, they needed to make some sweeping changes in the process, which included neglecting her original Inhuman trait.
Season 1 ended on a massive cliffhanger, with Lunella getting sucked into a portal to the unknown with no way back. But not only will she return, she’ll be doing so with a reinvigorated focus.

“The Beyonder is just wacky, silly, fun,” says Laurence Fishburne of his smooth supervillain in this exclusive clip from the next episode of “Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.” The character makes his debut in the Disney+ series on Saturday, Feb. 25.
“He comes to Earth in search of the smartest person who can teach him what humanity is all about. And it happens to be Lunella,” he says of the 13-year-old main character, who’s voiced by Diamond White. The genius tween and her 10-ton T-Rex, Devil Dinosaur, work together to protect New York City’s Lower East Side.
“I love ‘Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur’ for the same reasons I loved everything about Marvel comics since I was a kid,” says Fishburne. “The writers were writing what was happening outside the window in New York City, where I grew up.”

Move over diamonds; it seems like Dinosaurs are a girl’s best friend. At least, that’s the case for Lunella Lafayette (Diamond White) in Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Based on the comic book of the same name, the series follows Lunella, a Black 13-year-old Manhattanite who uses her genius to accidentally conjure up a giant red Devil Dinosaur (Fred Tatasciore) through a time portal she’s created. Luckily for Lunella, and the entire Lower East Side neighborhood, she befriends the prehistoric creature and uses their unique partnership to fight crime in the area under the moniker of Moon Girl.
Another unique thing about the animated show, brought to life by actor Laurence Fishburne and producer Helen Sugland, is that it makes Marvel history for featuring the first Black female lead character in a Marvel television show. Lunella’s onscreen debut further adds to the recent strides...

Since 2018, Laurence Fishburne and his Cinema Gypsy production company have been working with Marvel Animation to create an all-new animated series based on "Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur" by Brandon Montclare, Amy Reeder, and Natacha Bustos, which was a sequel to Jack Kirby's "Moon Boy and Devil Dinosaur" from 1978. The show follows 13-year-old supergenius Lunella Lafayette, who teams up with the T-rex she accidentally brought to the present day to protect the Lower East Side of New York City from danger.
Originally, the cartoon was meant to premiere on The Disney Channel in 2020, but the pandemic threw a wrench into their plans that even Lunella couldn't fix. However, now the series is finally ready to make its debut. In fact, it's even been renewed for a second season already, so there are clearly big plans in store for this new Marvel dynamic duo.

Updated with Saturday schedule: After a two-year in-person hiatus due to Covid, San Diego Comic-Con is raging back with a big footprint by streaming, TV and, well, as far as big screen feature films, let’s just say they’re creeping back.
Marvel will make some big waves with its upcoming new movies (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) and Disney+ series (She-Hulk), but it will keep some powder dry for D23 in early September. Dwayne Johnson will be booming with New Line/DC’s Black Adam, along with Shazam: Fury of the Gods star Zachary Levi. However, while Sony will be skipping as the Spider-Verse animated sequel is set for next year. Paramount will be giving fans an early look at Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. And there’s Kevin Smith with Clerks III.

We’re two weeks out from San Diego Comic-Con 2022, which happens to be the first real Sdcc since Covid-19 shut everything down in 2020. Yes, Comic-Con international did hold a very small, stripped down version of the event last thanksgiving but this year marks the convention’s return — hopefully — to pre-covid glory.
Naturally, you can expect a lot of great panels and events to plan for, and lucky for you, per tradition, today marks the start of daily news drops for the Sdcc 2022 schedule. So grab your calendar and let’s get started.
Paramount claimed the first Hall H panel of Sdcc 2022 with a look at “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” which starts at noon on July 21 in Hall H.

Jennifer Yuh Nelson's "Kung Fu Panda 2" dominated the Annie Awards nominations, but the International Animated Film Society decided to give its highest honor -- the Best Animated Feature award -- to Gore Verbinski's "Rango." Both films are from DreamWorks Animation and they still have to duke it out at the upcoming Oscars in the Best Animated Feature Film category.

I'm a huge fan of animation, animated films are getting better and better. Not only is the look and animation getting ridiculously awesome, but I find that many of these animated films actually have incredibly good stories. Not all of them are good though, for example, Cars 2 and Rio sucked. It will be interesting to see who ends up taking home the awards this year. Out of the movies on the list that I've seen and liked we have Puss in Boots, Rango and Kung Fu Panda 2. I guess it's no surprises that Kung Fu Panda 2 is leading the nominations with 9. Check out the list and let us know what your favorite animated movies of the year are!
