- In New Orleans, he auditioned for a local production of "Breaking the Code" which he saw on Broadway with Derek Jacobi as the lead. He was in awe of how great the acting was and how well written the play was. He wanted to be a part of this show in any capacity possible. He showed up to audition on a wrong day, it was the women's audition day. Once the Director informed him he apologized and when leaving she stopped him and asked if he could stay and read the male parts for the audition. He was a shoo-in and landed the lead role of Alan Turing. The director said she couldn't see anyone else but him in the part after the men auditioned the next day. Great reviews and a special review from an actual friend of Alan Turing who drove in from Florida to see the show. He said, "James, although he didn't look like Alan he embodied and took on his mannerisms and reminded him so much of Alan".
