- Even before graduating Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Brandeis University, Michael was already a professionally produced playwright. The youngest undergraduate permitted to attend the writing master class of American theatrical titan, William Gibson (The Miracle Worker, Two For The Seesaw, etc.), Michael went on to win that educational institution's Giddon Playwriting Award two years in succession.
Within months of graduation, Michael had written and had productions of no less than 12 children's plays, and a musical, I Only Just Got Here Myself, which later enjoyed a New York run, Off-Off Broadway, with book, lyrics, and music all co-authored by Michael, who also co-produced the show. He went on to write, publish, and/or produce many short and full-length plays and musicals on both the East and West Coasts, earning several Dramalogue awards, and a slot in the respected anthology, West Coast Playwrights.
Michael has also sold or optioned five screenplays, including the award-winning Peter O'Toole - John Rhys-Davies - Ally Walker romantic thriller, The Seventh Coin. That movie placed first at both the Houston and Philadelphia International Film Festivals.
Michael has also written for network TV and the funny papers (he wrote the celebrated comic strip, Walt Kelly's Pogo, with Walt's daughter providing the illustrations) and also authored a regular column in an LA classified periodical which discussed such vital issues as "Do Fish Itch?" and "How To Pronounce Schenectady."
During a stint as script analyst for Orbit Entertainment at Paramount, Michael isolated twelve elements common to all successful films, no matter the genre, the lack of which spells failure at the box office.
Michael's book, Are You Alive Today-A Guide To Your Waking Hours, is available online. He also blogs for life-affirming websites, delivers motivational talks and seminars, and is a practicing optimist.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Anonymous
