- Lewis served with the Marines during WW II, and in 1950 was on the editorial staff of the Santa Ana (CA) Register and writing screenplays for Johnny Mack Brown, Lash Larue and others when he was called back to service with the Marines in Korea. He was one of the first Americans into Wonsan, North Korea when it was taken from the communists. He returned to the states but then volunteered to return to Korea and spent 14 months on a second tour. When he finished the tour in 1953 he had been promoted to captain and had been awarded Bronze Star, the Air Medal and the Commendation Medal.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Richard A Moore
