A.P. Bio Season 3 Preview
A.P. Bio star Glenn Howerton wants to make one thing very clear about the show’s move from NBC to Peacock: it wasn’t canceled… or at least not canceled in the traditional sense of the term.
“This has always been misrepresented a little bit,” Howerton says. “The show did Ok on NBC but not great. And certainly not good enough for them to pick it up. But it was always my understanding that the show kind of crushed it on Hulu. Then Hulu wasn’t doing work with NBC Universal anymore. So we had this large streaming audience but nowhere to put the show. Then when Peacock decided to do Peacock Originals, they picked us up really quickly.”
Through two seasons, A.P. Bio was always indeed a streaming-friendly show. The darkly funny series follows disgraced Harvard professor...

Tyler Perry’s Madea will take one last bow on August 27, when a filmed version of the character’s final stage tour premieres on BET+.
The subscription streaming outlet announced the release date Wednesday for Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Farewell Play, which it bills as the “final stage run” for Madea. A press release said Perry, as Madea, “pulls together some of his audience’s favorite characters for a family gathering” in a performance lasting more than two hours. Perry is executive producer, directed and writer, in addition to his starring role.
Current events, including Covid-19, enter the scene. The live show was filmed in May, judging by a glimpse of the theater marquee in a promo for the special (watch it above). At one point, Madea separates two women who are about to hug each other. “Got that coronavirus going around!” she cracks.

After obtaining the Last Will and Testament of Jerry Lewis, The Blast discovered that the late comedic actor excluded the six children from his first marriage from receiving any benefits upon his death. "I have intentionally excluded Gary Lewis, Ronald Lewis, Anthony Joseph Lewis, Christopher Joseph Lewis, Scott Anthony Lewis and Joseph Christopher Lewis and their descendants as beneficiaries of my estate, it being my intention that they shall receive no benefits hereunder," the documents obtained by The Blast read. The media outlet also reported that Lewis' son Joseph died of an overdose in 2009 and that Lewis noted that he was deceased in the documents. According to The Blast, the will...

Jerry Lewis purposefully left out six of his children from his will before he passed away last month, leaving his entire estate to his widow, SanDee Pitnick. According to The Blast and People, a will the comedian executed in 2012 “intentionally excluded” the children and all descendants from his first marriage to Patti Palmer. The entirety of his estate was left to Pitnick, with their adopted daughter Danielle second in line. “I have intentionally excluded Gary Lewis, Ronald Lewis, Anthony Joseph Lewis, Christopher Joseph Lewis, Scott Anthony Lewis and Joseph Christopher Lewis and their descendants as beneficiaries of my estate, it being.

From Rachel Platten to Hunter Hayes, here’s how all the performers of “The Star-Spangled Banner” stacked up. 7. Staind singer Anthony Lewis so badly botched the words to the anthem for Game 5 on October 27 that he later offered an apology. His nasal delivery didn’t win over many folks, either. 6. Veteran Chicago crooner John Vincent was a bit pitchy in his rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” to open Game 4 on October 29 — not only did he (oddly) take a breath in the middle of the word “gallantly” but he seemed to struggle with the final phrase. 5....

In a completely terrifying development, Alan Ball says that Rick Santorum inspired this season of True Blood, because more frightening than any monster is the concept of a theocracy, which is basically the idea behind the Authority. Although on second thought, the idea that he inspired True Blood may be more terrifying to Santorum.

There’s a sudden appetite for Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” to become a transmedia spectacle. Filmmaker Danny Boyle is currently directing an adaptation of the classic Victorian novel for the National Theatre (with Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller alternating roles as Frankenstein and his Creature), which was also broadcast to selected cinemas around the world. And last night, BBC3 delivered the horror-musical Frankenstein’s Wedding (a modern spin on Shelley’s masterpiece), which went out live to the nation from Leeds’ Kirkstall Abbey, where 12,000 people had gathered to be part of the performance.
There was ambition to Frankenstein’s Wedding, that much is definitely true, but this live 80-minute spectacle was a mostly laborious and underwhelming flop. A great idea, but the execution didn’t fulfill its promise. Opening on Kirkstall Abbey (after a weird intro from DJ Reggie Yates) the live audience were playing the wedding guests for...

Where is Henry Kissinger? In the hundreds of transcribed pages of the White House tapes, Kissinger never makes an entrance. He never offers his president an opinion about the effects of the Watergate scandal on foreign policy, nor a suggestion to his president on what he ought to do, nor, in fact, a word on their policies in foreign affairs that we now know to be so closely woven with the desperately fought reelection campaign of 1972.
What are the White House tapes without Kissinger? Will these portions ever be heard?...
