Jenna Ortega is heading into production on season 2 of the Addams Family-inspired Netflix series Wednesday and has a prominent role in the long-awaited sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, but she’s no longer a part of two other franchises. After starring in Scream (2022) and Scream VI, she reportedly asked for a substantial pay raise to return for Scream 7, despite knowing that request wouldn’t go over well with the producers at Spyglass Media – and sure enough, Spyglass opted not to bring her back for Scream 7. Now the full trailer for the upcoming Netflix animated series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory – which serves as a follow-up to the animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous – reveals that Ortega’s Camp Cretaceous character Brooklynn has been killed off! The first season of family-friendly series from DreamWorks Animation launched Sept. 18. Watch a teaser for the second season of the animated show, coming in 2021, above.
“Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous” takes place within the same timeline as the 2015 film but sees the dinosaur rampage through the eyes of six teenagers who are in for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. When dinosaurs wreak havoc across the island, the campers are unable to reach the outside world and will quickly go from strangers, to friends, to family as they band together to survive.

When the long-rumored Jurassic World Netflix TV project turned out to be an animated children’s show, many lost interest. Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous didn’t convince in its early trailers, looked like it was made on a tight budget and featured an annoying cast of tweens. Despite all that, though, it proved to be a fairly compelling watch, showing a group of youngsters racing across the island to reach the evacuation boats during the events of 2015’s Jurassic World.
The first season ended on a surprising note, too, with our heroes finally arriving at the docks to discover that the ships had long since departed without them. They’re now trapped on the dinosaur-infested Isla Nublar, either awaiting rescue or having to escape themselves. The idea of children surviving alone against hungry dinosaurs is reminiscent of Jurassic Park III, but this show looks to put a neat twist on it with its varied characters.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous wasn’t the disaster we’d feared. Sure, some of the animation was clearly done on a budget and there was the odd cringeworthy piece of dialogue, but at least the core dinosaur action was fun. Plus, while I’d been worried that it’d be too childish and lacking high stakes, there were more than a couple of intense dino attack sequences.
It wasn’t perfect, but I enjoyed it and definitely want more. In fact, judging by the show’s surprising ending, a second season would really kick things into high gear.
You see, Camp Cretaceous took place parallel to the events of 2015’s Jurassic World, during which the dinosaurs broke free from their enclosures and ran amok. The Camp Cretaceous characters were on the other side of the island as this happened and were trying to make it across the park and onto...

This article contains spoilers for the Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous ending.
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous has yet to be officially renewed for a second season. Yet if you’ve finished all eight episodes of the new animated series on Netflix, you know that the series practically demands one: While counselors Roxie and Dave (Jameela Jamil and Glen Powell) managed to get off the island during the evacuation that followed in the wake of the Indominus Rex’s rampage—much to their reluctance—all six of their young campers got left behind. Abandoned on the island. Worse still, they’re separated, with most believing Ben Pincus (Sean Giambrone) is dead and that their cute baby Anklyosaurus pet, Bumpy, is also lost.
So the park might be closed, but Camp Cretaceous definitely remains open, potentially forever. Or at least until a volcanic explosion destroys Isla Nublar (watch Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom for...

It’s been a mere 27 years since Michael Crichton and Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park hit our cinema screens, giving birth to a major new franchise that just keeps on giving in both wonder and awe in the dino-tastic series. It’s a wonder it’s taken this long to get an animated series, but thanks to Netflix, Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow audiences can now see this world from the eyes of the modern-day teenager in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.
Set against the timeline of the blockbuster film Jurassic World, Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous follows a group of six teenagers trapped at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. When the events of the film unfold and dinosaurs are unleashed across the island, each kid realizes their very survival rests on the shoulders of themselves and their fellow campers.

One of the most exciting things for fans of the original Jurassic Park is that the film’s three leads, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum, will all be reprising their roles in Jurassic World: Dominion. As the third and final (at least according to marketing) Jurassic World film, the picture is intended to be a finale for both the current Jurassic World trilogy of films that began with the Colin Trevorrow-directed blockbuster in 2015, and the original Jurassic Park movies, including Steven Spielberg’s 1993 classic.
Yet there has been some small skepticism in certain quarters, where it’s being snarked the original trio will only be appearing for a scene or two, a la Goldblum’s cameo as Ian Malcolm in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. However, this is not the case, according to Trevorrow, who gave some hints about the film when we sat down to discuss the new animated Netflix series,...

DreamWorks Animation series “Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous,” coming to Netflix on Sept. 18, immediately immerses viewers in the universe of the popular franchise — shaky camera shots, a roaring Tyrannosaurus rex and characters fleeing stampeding dinosaurs.
As we pull back, however, viewers can see the bedroom of young Darius (voiced by Paul-Mikél Williams), who’s playing a video game as he’s about to go off to Isla Nublar with other teen campers (and is soon to face similar terrors).
The meta opening is a grabber, but for CG lighting/compositing director Kathy Tran, whose job is to use subtle shades of light and color to give a show its look, the degree of difficulty in distinguishing between the world of a video game and an animated “real” world was high.
It took three tries to achieve the desired effect. The feedback from executive producer Scott Kreamer and supervising producer Aaron Hammersley...

The original Jurassic Park trilogy will be exiting Netflix at the end of September, two months after the films arrived from NBCUniversal’s Peacock.
The first three films in Universal’s multibillion-dollar Jurassic Park franchise — 1993’s Jurassic Park, 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park and 2001’s Jurassic Park III — came to Netflix on August 1 following a 17-day window on Peacock that began with the launch of the NBCUniversal service.
They will now leave Netflix on September 30. It’s not yet known where the titles will land next.
Steven Spielberg directed the first two films in the Jurassic Park franchise. Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum starred in the original movie Jurassic Park. Goldblum returned for Lost World, alongside Julianne Moore and Pete Postlethwaite. Neill returned for the Joe Johnston-helmed Jurassic Park III, opposite William H. Macy and Téa Leoni.

Earlier today it was announced that Netflix was developing a Jurassic World animated spinoff series called Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous with DreamWorks Animation. Well, we now have a teaser trailer to share with you that gives us our first look at what we can expect from the show.
While the teaser doesn’t really get into the story, we do get a look at the kind of animation we’ll be seeing, and it looks like great stuff! I’m glad to see that the animation will have a higher quality to it than many of the shows we are seeing these days.
The series will be set in the same universe and timeline as the two Jurassic World films. Here’s the official synopsis:

Since hitting theaters over four years ago, the newly rebooted Jurassic World series has made a meteor-sized dent in the box office. So obviously, it should come as no surprise that Netflix has revealed that a new animated spinoff show is set to reach your TV screen next year. In fact, the only surprising thing about this announcement is the fact that after 25+ years of dinosaur mayhem, why did it take so long in the first place?
Produced by DreamWorks Animation, the long-rumored series will be called Camp Cretaceous, an admittedly cute stab at wordplay. Set shortly after the Chris Pratt-starring 2015 film, but long before the island is destroyed by a volcanic eruption (as seen in last year’s Fallen Kingdom), the story will focus on a group of six teenagers stranded on Isla Nublar after the dinosaurs escape and wreak havoc across the park. But when dinosaurs wreak havoc across the island, the campers are stranded. Unable to reach the outside world, they’ll need to go from strangers to friends to family if they’re going to survive.
