“The Brady Bunch” star Barry Williams was inspired by TV mom Florence Henderson to go on “Dancing With the Stars,” he told TheWrap in an interview last week.
Henderson, who played mom Carol Brady on the ’70s sitcom, competed in Season 11 of the ABC competition. “She was my inspiration,” he said. When asked if he thinks of the actress, who died on Nov. 24, 2016, whenever he hits the dance floor, he answered, “Yes. Every week.”
Williams visited the set in 2010 to watch Henderson rehearse and perform. “I was really taken with it,” he said. “She had always mentored me in one way or another. She knew that I had been active theatrically in a lot of musicals, and she thought this would be a great fit for me. I got the bug, and she made me promise to go for it.”

Dancing with the Stars‘ competitor Barry Williams is one of the most beloved classic television celebrities. For those who grew up in the 1970s and beyond, his work on The Brady Bunch remains must-see TV for its wholesome portrayal of a blended American family. However, he may hold a different distinction within his fictional television clan: is Barry the oldest living member of the original Brady Bunch cast?
Barry Williams played the oldest Brady brother, Greg, on ‘The Brady Bunch’
Barry Williams’ role as Greg Brady on The Brady Bunch instantly made him one of TV’s most recognizable faces. Alongside co-stars Robert Reed, Florence Henderson, Ann B. Davis, Maureen McCormick, Eve Plumb, Susan Olsen, Christopher Knight, and Mike Lookinland, The Brady Bunch became a cultural phenomenon that ran for five seasons on the ABC network.

Dancing with the Stars viewers are calling foul on judges Carrie Ann Inaba, head judge Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli. They claim the trio was “underscoring” beloved TV star Barry Williams after a lively Cha Cha for Latin Night. Fans believe “they did him dirty” by giving the entertainer scores that placed him toward the bottom of the leaderboard.
Fans believe judges were ‘underscoring’ Barry Williams’ on his challenging Cha Cha
Dancing with the Stars Season 32 cast member Barry Williams entered week two of DWTS facing a challenging Cha Cha for Latin Night. Peta Murgatroyd trained Williams in the dance, incorporating small, quick steps rather than long glides across the dance floor.
In a video package accompanying William’s Cha Cha, Peta Murgatroyd and other competing couples celebrated Williams’ 69th birthday in a DWTS rehearsal room. The former Brady Bunch star admitted a great birthday gift would be high scores from the judges.

HGTV has sold The Brady Bunch house and it did so at below the asking price and below the price they paid when they purchased it back in 2018.
The Los Angeles home served as the exterior shot of the popular 1970s sitcom. HGTV bought the home and renovated the interior to replicate the Hollywood sets of the comedy that starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the home sold for $3.2 million, which the cable network had listed at $5.5 million earlier this year. HGTV bought the home for $3.5 million at the time and documented the renovations with specials like A Very Brady Renovation and A Very Brady Renovation: Holiday Edition.
Tina Trahan, a self-proclaimed fan of the show and the 1995 parody film, bought the home and said she would use the house located in Studio City for charitable events.

HGTV purchased the house in Studio City for $3.5 million in 2019. The network then invested $1.9 million in a massive renovation of the midcentury home, which was chronicled in the 2019 series A Very Brady Renovation.
The show reunited the actors who played the six Brady siblings – Barry Williams (Greg), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Christopher Knight (Peter), Eve Plumb (Jan), Mike Lookinland (Bobby), and Susan Olsen (Cindy). They teamed up with HGTV renovation experts Jonathan and Drew Scott, Mina Starsiak Hawk and Karen E Laine, Leanne and Steve Ford, Jasmine Roth, and Lara Spencer to transform the house so that it closely resembled the interior seen on the beloved sitcom, which aired from 1969 to 1974.

“House of Sand and Fog” director Vadim Perelman has signed on to direct “The House with No Walls,” a docu-series examining the mystery surrounding the 2010 death of eccentric millionaire John Bender in Costa Rica.
The four-part series hails from Former Prodigy Media, the production company headed by “Brady Bunch” alumnus Christopher Knight and producer Phil Viardo. “House with No Walls” is based on an upcoming podcast about the Bender story, “Hell in Heaven,” from Blanchard House. The project has been developed with Selectors, a London-based IP incubator run by journalist William Ralston with backing from financier Goldfinch.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled that our collab with Selectors and Blanchard House on this documentary will now be masterfully led by such a talented and accomplished director as Vadim Perelman,” said Viardo.

It’s New Year’s Eve once again over at Trailers From Hell, so you know what that means, fellow cineastes: it’s Val Kilmer’s birthday!
As such, our Kilmer Birthday Committee (of one) will continue its annual tradition of watching one Val classic in celebration. Tonight’s entertainment: the criminally under-seen and intensely silly Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker adventure comedy Top Secret! (1984), a mash-up Elvis musical/spy caper parody picture. This relentlessly unserious entertainment carries special significance for Kilmerphiles, as it brought the world Val’s first-ever feature film role.
Now when Val Kilmer makes his celluloid acting debut, he’s not just some featured extra, or the 12th lead, or whatever. Don’t be silly. He’s the star, damn it.
In Top Secret!, that means he’s Nick Rivers, a Presley-esque rock and roller who finds himself inadvertently at the heart of an attempted hostile overseas takeover. This raucous...

Amber Riley has made TV history with her win on The Masked Singer season eight.
During Wednesday (30 November) night’s finale of the US version of the celebrity singing series, Riley – best known for her recurring role as Mercedes on creator Ryan Murphy’s series Glee – walked away victorious.
Following the top-secret 12-week singing competition, the 36-year-old actor, who had been disguised as a gold shimmery harp, was the last standing contestant to unmask.
Riley’s newest triumph marks her second major win on a TV reality show competition. In 2013, she and her dance partner, Derek Hough, took home the coveted mirrorball trophy of Dancing with the Stars season 17.
Other celebrities, including Gladys Knight and Margaret Cho, have attempted both competitions, however, Riley is the only one to have ever achieved the double feat.

Exclusive: Fox has a lot to be thankful for this week. After three days of delayed viewing, The Masked Singer‘s Thanksgiving episode drew the network’s highest-rated Thursday original telecast in over six years.
The episode, which was the Season 8 semifinals, scored a 2.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic, according to Live+3 Day Nielsen data. A Thursday program hasn’t scored that well for Fox since the finale of American Idol in April 2016.
It’s also the highest rating a regular Thursday primetime entertainment telecast has received in L+3 across all of cable and broadcast since the series finale of The Big Bang Theory on CBS in 2019.
It’s worth noting that the episode had a lead in from the Dallas Cowboys win over the New York Giants, which drew an NFL viewing record of its own with a massive 42 million people watching that game.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Season 8, episode 7, of “The Masked Singer,” “Hall of Fame Night,” which aired Nov. 9 on Fox.
“The Masked Singer” paid tribute to late actor Leslie Jordan on Wednesday night’s episode, opening with a brief card dedicating the episode “to a beloved member of the Fox family, Leslie Jordan 1955-2022.”
Jordan, who had previously appeared as a guest judge on “The Masked Singer,” returned as a panelist for this week’s show, which was taped back in August.
As for the episode’s unmasking, it was a night of double “George” reveals. Living up to the “Hall of Fame” theme, boxing and portable grill entrepreneur George Foreman and funk legend George Clinton – of Parliament/Funkadelic fame — were the next to go.
Foreman, as the Venus Flytrap, was the first to go, with the fewest number of votes. Later, Clinton...

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Sunday’s episode of “The Masked Singer”
Joey Lawrence is a name that has come up in many a judges guesses over the course of “The Masked Singer,” even as recently as a few weeks ago. But somehow, it only came to one judge’s mind on Sunday night, and Lawrence himself is thoroughly amused by that.
On Sunday’s episode — airing on a different night because of the World Series — Joey Lawrence was revealed to be the man underneath the Walrus mask, and only Robin Thicke was able to correctly pick out his voice. It’s a bit ironic, considering judge Ken Jeong was wholly convinced earlier this season that the Mummies costume actually contained Lawrence and his brothers, as a trio. Instead, it was a different set of TV brothers: Christopher Knight, Mike Lookinland, and Barry Williams — the boys of The Brady Bunch.

Why isn’t “The Masked Singer” on tonight? Blame baseball. The Fox network is airing Game 4 of the 2022 World Series between Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros on Wednesday night, so your favorite reality TV show has been preempted. The current plan is to air this week’s episode of “The Masked Singer” on Sunday, November 6. However, that will only happen if the World Series doesn’t go to Game 7.

Last week, “The Masked Singer” was preempted in America due to baseball, so viewers didn’t get to see the battle play out between Maize, Mermaid and Robo Girl. Big excitement while celebrating the small screen. Wednesday’s new episode of “The Masked Singer” was TV Night, and everything from the set decoration to the wardrobes to the editing and even song choices, was a celebration of all things TV.
Robin Thicke opened the show with a performance of the theme song for “Growing Pains” — which, obviously, served as a tribute to his late father, Alan Thicke, who famously starred in the iconic sitcom. It was a sweet moment made even sweeter by having Robin’s famous mom, Gloria Loring, in the audience.
Meanwhile, fellow panelists Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger also embraced the theme with some TV-inspired costumes of their own (including Ken dressed up in a doctor’s coat and McCarthy decked out like Wonder Woman).

A trio of iconic television stars was unmasked during the appropriately titled “TV Theme Night” episode of “The Masked Singer” on Wednesday. Barry Williams, Christopher Knight and Mike Lookinland who played Greg, Peter and Bobby on “The Brady Bunch” were parading around as Mummies while singing “The Monkees” theme. Panelist Nicole Scherzinger was the first to unravel the clues that gave them away and Robin Thicke piggybacked on the idea.
“It was thrilling to be together performing,” Williams told Nick Cannon during their unmasked interview. “We haven’t performed together like this since the ‘Brady’ days, originally. Being here was such fun. The audience has been terrific and the judges are very sharp. You’re very sharp!”

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Masked Singer Season 8 Episode 3 “TV Theme Night.”] Here’s the story of … three Mummies who, unfortunately, only performed one song on this season of The Masked Singer. The Mummies and Fortune Teller each took the stage hoping to send Harp, who has come out on top in two episodes already, home, but instead, they were the ones unmasked. The Mummies were The Brady Bunch‘s Barry Williams, Christopher Knight, and Mike Lookinland, while Fortune Teller was Shark Tank‘s, Daymond John. Here, the Mummies open up about their time on the show. Plus, are more reunions coming? What made you say yes to doing The Masked Singer? Did one of you have to convince the others? Barry Williams: I was very excited to get this call. I thought it would be a really, really fun experience, but I knew that Chris would need some encouragement. This is not his happy place necessarily.

Years before he flaunted his versatility in "The Doors," "Tombstone" and "Heat," it appeared as though Val Kilmer was going to be one of Hollywood's go-to comedy stars. Though David Zucker, Jim Abrahams and Jerry Zucker's "Top Secret!" flopped at the box office in 1984, those who were wise enough to rush out and catch it walked away impressed with the actor's ability to deadpan one moment and switch on his rockstar swagger the next. He followed that up the next year with an immensely appealing performance as troublemaking genius Chris Knight in Martha Coolidge's hysterical "Real Genius."
Kilmer's arrival was as sudden as it was welcome. Unlike many stars, he hadn't paid his dues via two-line roles in schlocky exploitation flicks or sitcoms. He just showed up, and we instantly adored him. If you had to guess, you figured he'd studied improv at Second City or The Groundlings.

As long as he lives — and probably then some — Barry Williams’s name will be synonymous with just one thing: The Brady Bunch. While the show’s network run ended more than 48 years ago, the show has never disappeared from the public’s consciousness. There have been spin-offs, specials, TV movies, theatrical films, and now, in the digital age, Williams and co-star Christopher Knight host a weekly podcast about the show called The Real Brady Bros. When we had the opportunity to speak to Williams about the astounding (and outstanding) longevity of The Brady Bunch’s popularity, he told us that — well, most of the time — the TV family seemed like a real family, going through situations that most ordinary families (and especially kids) could relate to. You know someone is doing something right when your inner child squeals in delight.
That's what happened when Lifetime announced Blending Christmas, starring Haylie Duff, Aaron O'Connell, and members of The Brady Bunch!
We had a chance to chat with Peter Brady himself, Christopher Knight, who shared his thoughts on the enduring love for the iconic show and working again with Barry Williams, Susan Olsen, and Mike Lookinland.
Hello, Carissa.
Hi, Christopher. How are you?
I'm very well, thank you. How are you?
I'm doing just great. When I was a kid, I would've never imagined I'd have a chance to talk with Peter Brady.
[laughs] You didn't think you'd still be alive. Well, it's the holiday season. Dreams do come true, no matter how small they might have been.
Exactly. Blending Christmas is such a fun concept to get all of you guys back together. How was it presented to you?...

Haylie Duff and Aaron O'Connell star as a couple in love in Lifetime's Blending Christmas.
O'Connell's character decides on a Christmas proposal that includes extended family from both sides, which turns out to be a little more complicated than he imagined. Thankfully, with The Brady Bunch's Barry Williams, Susan Olsen, Christopher Knight, and Mike Lookinland around, complications didn't overshadow the love.
We had a chance to talk with Aaron about the movie, and his peek inside of The Brady Bunch magic.
Hi, Aaron. How are you?
Hi, Carissa. How's it going? I'm doing great here. How are you?
I'm doing good. Thank you for asking.
Good.
You've got quite a few Christmas romcoms under your belt. Why do you keep coming back to those?
I just enjoy spreading the holiday cheer?
Do you?
I love doing the holiday films, because I just feel like, with all of the stuff...

Well, this is surreal. On Thursday, July 22, VH1 announced that The Surreal Life will be rebooted with a new slew of celebrity participants for fall 2021. As fans of the iconic series well know, The Surreal Life puts a batch of celebrities under one roof, causing countless headline-making reality TV moments. In fact, we have The Surreal Life, which originally ran for six seasons between 2003 and 2006, to thank for America's Next Top Model star Adrianne Curry's unexpected marriage to The Brady Bunch's Christopher Knight and Flavor Flav's revived success in the '00s, including his spinoff shows, Strange Love and Flavor of Love. Oh, and we'd be remiss if we didn't...
