Spoiler Alert: The following story contains details from the series finale of NCIS: New Orleans.
On Monday, NCIS: New Orleans came to the end of its seventh and final season, going out on a celebratory note.
The series finale, titled “Laissez les Bon Temps Rouler,” picks up with Pride (Scott Bakula) on the eve of his wedding to Rita (his real-life wife Chelsea Field), as he continues to dig into an attack on his half brother Jimmy (Jason Alan Carvell) and Connor (Drew Scheid), the son he’s only recently come to know.
Initially, it seems like the attack came from one of his mother Sasha’s (Callie Thorne) many enemies. It ultimately comes out, though, that Sasha had the attack staged, so that she could take Connor into Witness Protection, without Pride intervening. While it looks for a moment like Connor is going to skip town with his mother,...

Bull showrunner Glenn Gordon Caron has exited the CBS show and his deal with CBS Studios has ended, the studio confirmed.
Additionally, original cast memner Freddy Rodriguez, who played Benjamin “Benny” Colón, also has departed the procedural drama.
Bull producer CBS Studios would not provide any information other than confirming they were no longer with the show, but we hear the exits followed a workplace investigation.
The circumstances of Caron’s exit follow a probe by CBS into a swath of writers leaving the series at the end of Season 5, which just wrapped its run.
CBS Studios was mum on what went down. But others were not.
“The environment went from dysfunctional to toxic depending on Gordon’s mood, and that became unsustainable,” an individual with close knowledge of events told Deadline.

The series finale will air Sunday, May 16.
“From the start, ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ was able to distinguish itself with its New Orleans authenticity,” CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl said, “from the colors and music to the vibrancy and stories you can only find in the Big Easy. Thanks to the amazing talents of the producers, writers, cast and crew, Nola has played a key role on our schedule. We’re pleased to give it a big sendoff and that viewers will have the opportunity to say goodbye to their favorite characters as the final season wraps.”

CBS is looking to expand its lucrative “NCIS” franchise with a fourth series, this one set in Hawaii, according to TVLine.
The network is closing in on a straight-to-series order for a spinoff set in the youngest U.S. state, which would be led by “NCIS: New Orleans” showrunner Chris Silber. The new show would join the flagship “NCIS,” which is in its 18th season, and “NCIS: Los Angeles.” “NCIS” itself was a spinoff from CBS’ long-running procedural “Jag.”
Reps for CBS and CBS Studios, which produces all “NCIS” series, declined to comment.
“NCIS” first debuted in 2003 and has launched successful spinoffs with “Los Angeles” and “New Orleans” versions, though the latter series had to fire its showrunner Brad Kern in 2018 after multiple accusations of abusive behavior.
The network has explored other spinoffs, including one centered on a mobile anti-terrorist unit that had John Corbett and Kim Raver attached to star.

McGowan added that the reboot "sucks."

There are some more changes at the wheel of NCIS: New Orleans.
Adam Targum, an executive producer on the popular CBS procedural, was fired on January 25, according to Vulture.
The report states that Targum was a bully on the set and that the Hr department learned that various members of the show's writing staff were not impressed with the way he acted.
"He’s incredibly tone-deaf, and if a guy like this is put into a room with staff that’s been through a lot of trauma in the past two years, there are going to be problems," a source close to production revealed to Vulture.

The CBS drama NCIS: New Orleans has lost its second executive producer in less than four months. Deadline has confirmed that Adam Targum has left the spinoff series whose former showrunner Brad Kern was fired by CBS TV Studios in October.
Vulture reports tonight that Targum, who joined the show less than a year ago, was fired on Friday.
Kern stepped down in May as Ep and showrunner of NCIS: New Orleans amid reports from 2017 of sexual harassment, discrimination against women and making racially charged comments. He had remained as a consultant on the show until being let go last year.
Vulture cites multiple sources as saying the workplace culture on the set had not improved under Christopher Silber, who was promoted to showrunner last year. One of its sources is quoted as saying the atmosphere this season is “miserable,” citing in part Targum’s alleged demeaning words, aggressive disposition and combative leadership style.

An executive producer of “NCIS: New Orleans,” Adam Targum, is no longer with the series, Variety has confirmed.
Targum is the subject of a report from Vulture, which indicated that his exit occurred after a complaint was received by Hr. Targum had served as deputy to showrunner Christopher Silber and left the series Jan. 25.
CBS declined to comment on the termination.
The exit follows that of showrunner Brad Kern, who was the subject of multiple investigations by CBS after allegations of verbal harassment against women and making racially charged comments. The first two investigations, in 2016, resulted in assurances to staff that Kern had undergone sensitivity training after CBS concluded that there was no evidence of retaliation, harassment, discrimination or gender bias. In May 2018, Kern was let go from his role as Ep and showunner, but stayed on as a consulting producer. The third investigation, conducted by outside counsel in October...

There are changes at the wheel for CBS midseason comedy Fam, which is slated to debut at midseason.
According to TV Line, executive producer and showrunner Bob Kushell has been let go from the series ahead of its premiere.

Bob Kushell is out as co-showrunner for CBS’ midseason sitcom “Fam,” ahead of its debut, for “inappropriate language in the workplace.”
CBS declined to comment, but an insider with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap that Kushell is no longer with the show. TV Line was first to report the news of Kushell’s departure for workplace misconduct. Representatives for Kushell did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
The comedy starring Nina Dobrev and Tone Bell is set to premiere at midseason. Corinne Kingsbury, who created the show, will now be the sole showrunner on the series.

Never one to shy away from current events, Stephen Colbert has opened up about a damning CNN report that revealed CBS executive, Vincent "Vinnie" Favale was put on administrative leave.
The report stated that Favale used sexual and homophobic language in the workplace. What's more, multiple employees -- current and past -- have admitted they witnessed some of the behavior.
“An article came out on CNN today about an executive at CBS who used to be a liaison to this show,” Colbert said on Wednesday's installment of his series.
“He basically came with the building when I got this show, and he used to be around here a lot. About six months into this show, some of our employees said they were uncomfortable with some of the things that he said, so we took their complaints to Hr," the host continued.

It’s been 20 years since “Charmed” premiered on the now-defunct WB network, and Piper Halliwell and her whitelighter Leo Wyatt still rank among the top on-screen couples of all time. That’s partially because of the magic of the series, partially because of the hell the show put their A-couple through, and partially because Brian Krause and Holly Marie Combs are just fantastic scene partners.
In honor of the Power of Three turning the big 2-0, TheWrap spoke with Krause about his “Charmed” life, including Piper and Leo’s never-ending drama, where he lands in the Paige vs. Prue debate, and his thoughts on The CW’s upcoming reboot (which Combs isn’t really a fan of).
And, yes, he’s aware of all the jokes that are made about Leo, ever the pacifist, being constantly steamrolled by Piper, Prue (Shannen Doherty), Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) and Paige (Rose McGowan) on a daily basis.

A CBS executive who develops comedic talent for the Late Show With Stephen Colbert has been placed on administrative leave as the media company investigates allegations of him using sexually explicit and homophobic language in the workplace and retaliating against those who complained.
Nine current and former CBS employees who spoke to CNN described Vinnie Favale’s use of ribald and offensive language, including one who said he talked about how he got “four erections” while watching Jennifer Hudson rehearse for a show.
Two sources recounted details of a 2015 department meeting that was interrupted by the sound of construction — prompting Favale to compare the drill to “a big black dick.” One female employee who complained to her supervisor about the drill remark found herself subsequently excluded from meetings, according to CNN’s report.

CBS Studios executive Vinnie Favale was placed on administrative leave after multiple accusations of him using sexual and homophobic language.
“The comments reported in this story are offensive and not consistent with the standards we expect from our executives or the culture we want at CBS. The network investigated a complaint for inappropriate language that was received in January 2016, and corrective action was taken,” said the company in a statement. “However, since concerned voices are speaking up nearly three years later, additional review is warranted. Mr. Favale has been placed on leave while we look into this situation further.”
The news comes following a CNN report, which detailed accusations of multiple instances of inappropriate workplace language from nine current and former CBS employees. They described instances in “Late Show” meetings and rehearsals, between 2015 and 2018, where Favale “used sexual innuendo, made homophobic comments and allegedly said derogatory remarks about the appearances of female guests.

CBS has cut ties with another longtime employee, firing procedural producer Brad Kern.

CBS Television Studios has fired Brad Kern, the former showrunner of NCIS: New Orleans, the company confirmed.
“We have ended Brad Kern’s role as consulting producer on NCIS: New Orleans and his overall deal with the studio,” said a spokesperson for CBS Television Studios.
Deadline reported in May that Kern was stepping down as executive producer/showrunner of NCIS: New Orleans, but would remain as consultant on the series.
The move followed reports in December of 2017 that Kern had been the subject of two human resources investigations by CBS TV Studios stemming from his work on the studio’s popular CBS crime procedural. The inquiries centered on allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination against women — particularly working mothers — and racially charged comments, among other issues, Variety reported at the time.
Following the second investigation, Kern was reportedly assigned to and underwent six months of sensitivity training/counseling, which he completed in February.

As the television landscape continues to grow, from traditional broadcast networks to basic and premium cable to streaming platforms—even Walmart might launch a streaming platform—established properties are a hot commodity. Facebook made its TCA debut in hopes of talking up Facebook Watch, but wound up swatting at questions about its distribution of conspiracy peddler InfoWars. Netflix and Amazon returned to the semi-annual TV confab after being Mia for two years.

Broadcasters took a back seat, literally and figuratively, at this year’s summer press tour, with ABC and NBC’s presence shrinking to half a day each that wound down the 15-day event. But CBS programming chief Kelly Kahl may have clocked the most headlines just by virtue of showing up, as his boss is under investigation over allegations of sexual misconduct.

Creators of CW’s Charmed reboot think it would be “great” if the original version’s witches made guest appearances on the new series, Jennie Snyder Urman told TV critics Monday at TCA.
That said, “We have not tried yet” to contact any of them, she said, when asked.
Which might account for the reaction to the reboot of original cast member Holly Marie Combs – she’s not a fan, to put it mildly.
Back in January, Combs took to Twitter to say, “Until you ask us to rewrite it like [exec producer] Brad Kern did weekly, don’t even think of capitalizing on our hard work.” The franchise “belongs to the four of us” she insisted, referencing fellow former stars Alyssa Milano, Shannen Doherty and Rose McGowan, as well as “our vast amount of writers, crews and predominantly the fans.”

The cast of The CW’s upcoming “Charmed” reboot has faced backlash since the day the project was announced, from fans who don’t want anyone messing with their beloved IP — and Holly Marie Combs, who played sister Piper Halliwell on the original WB series.
And, yes, the stars acknowledged during the Television Critics Association press tour Monday that they are aware Combs isn’t a fan of the idea and has been quite vocal on social media about her apprehension over the reboot.
“I hoped that maybe she would see it and like it,” new series star Madeleine Mantock said. “But on the other hand… it was part of her life, is still a big part of her life. I think she’s entitled to feel however she wants.”

CW chief Mark Pedowitz defended his Charmed reboot against backlash by original cast members, during his Q&A at TCA.
Asked why he decided Charmed was better as a reboot than a revival, he responded, “We wanted to take a different path with it” saying the show is set in a “more current time” and wanted Jennie Snyder Urman’s perspective, which he called “such a great perspective.”
“We wanted a different Charmed,” he said, calling the original “a great show for that time and place” but adding he hopes “people will come and watch [the reboot] and give a chance.”
Asked if he was surprised by original cast member Holly Marie Combs’ unfavorable reaction, Pedowitz responded smoothly, “everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have great respect for them as actors. But give the show a shot. It’s different.”

At first, it seemed like CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl was giving an admirable performance under extraordinary circumstances. Faced with a roomful of reporters at TCA’s CBS day — a day that many thought might not happen at all — Kahl acknowledged the allegations against CEO Leslie Moonves and the conflicted feelings surrounding it. He admitted that CBS isn’t perfect and that there’s “room for improvement,” emphasizing that they’re “committed to [being] a collaborative, inclusive, and safe workplace” that wants to “respect the voices that come forward.” He then took over 20 minutes of questions, the vast majority of them related to Moonves and the various other allegations of misconduct reverberating throughout CBS.
But despite Kahl’s insistence that he couldn’t say much because of ongoing investigations into Moonves and “NCIS” producer Brad Kern, he still managed to say a whole lot about how CBS is approaching the allegations — or,...

Brad Kern has been suspended from NCIS: New Orleans.
The news was confirmed Sunday the Television Critics Association summer press tour.
“I believe in terms of keeping him out of the workplace during the investigation, that was to be as fair and open as we could be,” CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl told reporters.
“The investigation is ongoing. I’m told we will have results soon.”
This marks the third misconduct investigation against Kern at the network. Variety confirmed in December last year that there were two internal investigations that were found inconclusive.

CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl defended CBS’ corporate culture and workplace-safety practices Sunday at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour — becoming the first high-ranking CBS executive to field questions from the press following revelations of sexual-misconduct allegations against CEO Leslie Moonves.
“Obviously this has been a tough week at CBS,” Kahl told reporters in his prepared remarks at the top of the executive session. He added that in the week since allegations against Moonves of sexual misconduct were published in the New Yorker, he was approached by multiple female colleagues who told him that the portrayal of CBS in the New Yorker was not representative of their experiences as the company. Speaking to his own experience, Kahl said, “Leslie’s been an excellent boss and a mentor for a long time. He put me in this job. At the same time, we must respect the voices that come forward.
