On Monday morning, Apple TV Plus unveiled a full second season trailer for “The Morning Show,” the series that launched the streamer on Nov. 1, 2019. The 10-episode Season 2 of the morning news drama — starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, and run by executive producer Kerry Ehrin — will premiere on Sept. 17, with new episodes rolling out each week.
Production on “The Morning Show’s” second season was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020, and the show, which had received a two-season order before Apple’s streaming service launched, resumed filming in October of last year. The Season 1 finale aired on Dec. 20, 2019.

Apple TV+ shared a new trailer for the upcoming second season of “The Morning Show” on Monday, and the stakes are higher than ever.
“You’re just so caught up in ruling over your rotten little fiefdom. The rest of the world, they’ve moved to the cloud, and it is gorgeous up there,” Billy Crudup’s character proclaims, somewhat melodramatically, to Uba network executives in the trailer. “This is a battle for the soul of the universe!”
Clearly, Alex (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley’s (Reese Witherspoon) decision to expose the network’s culture of misogyny and abuse on air is going over about as well as one might have hoped.
Season 2 of “The Morning Show” is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on Friday, Sept. 17, with new episodes rolling out weekly through Nov. 19.

Producers of Apple TV+'s "The Morning Show" have filed a $44 million lawsuit against the show's insurance company for refusing to pay for coverage of losses due to the second season's Covid-related production delays, according to documents filed in California federal court on Friday.
"The Morning Show" executive producer Michael Ellenberg filed the lawsuit against the Apple drama's insurance company, Chubb National Insurance, on behalf of his banner Media Res, the production company behind the Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon-led series.
The "Morning Show" production company said it had secured $125 million in cast coverage from Chubb, plus more for imminent peril to their shooting location. The company said Chubb is now refusing to pay the coverage it owes the production company -- which, according to the lawsuit, is $44 million -- over the production delays it faced in Season 2 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The Morning Show” will return for Season 2 on Sept. 17 on Apple TV Plus, and when it does, things are going to look very different at the fictional morning news program.
Last audiences left veteran anchor Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) and newcomer Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon), they decided to reveal to the nation live on-air that they were working in a toxic culture for a show and a network that covered up horrible actions, including those from former anchor Mitch Kessler (Steve Carell).
When the second season starts, they — and everyone else around them — will still be reeling from those explosive announcements. As previewed in a trailer Apple TV Plus released (which you can watch below), Uba (the network) cut the national news feed as an immediate response, but further action will be taken. Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Final Girl,” the finale episode of “American Horror Story: 1984.”
The final episode of “American Horror Story: 1984” is appropriately called “The Final Girl,” a reference to the term given to that one (usually virginal) young woman who manages to survive the massacre in most horror movies. Who was could that be this time? Brooke (Emma Roberts) was the obvious choice, although Donna (Angelica Ross) would have been great — even if she did say last week, “A black final girl? Sweetheart, they kill folks with my complexion off first.”
Before finding out who the final girl was, however, the show jumped forward to 2019, when Ben’s (John Carroll Lynch) son Bobby (Finn Wittrock) came to Camp Redwood. He ran into Montana (Billie Lourd), who made some pretty funny comments about his smartphone — because obviously she doesn’t know anything about cell phones,...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “True Killers,” the fourth episode of “American Horror Story: 1984.”
The ninth season of “American Horror Story” is four episodes in and already revealing who is truly pulling the strings (and stabbing the knives) when it comes to the murders around Camp Redwood.
The episode, aptly-titled “True Killers,” opened with another flashback in order to provide some insight into these key players. Montana (Billie Lourd) was in the middle of teaching a men-only midnight aerobics class when the Night Stalker (Zach Villa) found her. He literally watched her through the windows until finally he just had to let his “Rebel Yell” out. But when he spied a mouthy aerobics attendee yelling at Montana, he did what anyone would do to show his love — he gutted the guy like a fish and hung him up in the locker room for Montana to find.

The ninth season of American Horror Story has been an interesting one. Its subtitle is 1984, which tells the tale of a group of counselors being massacred at a Summer camp, à la Friday the 13th or Sleepaway Camp. But so far, it has felt very different from past seasons of the show, and we think we may have figured out why. Read on for our theory, but be warned of spoilers for the season so far.
This season more than any others has seemed very straightforward. Sure, there have been a few good reveals, like faux Nurse Rita (Angelica Ross) actually being in cahoots with Mr. Jingles (John Carroll Lynch), or Montana (Billie Lourd) being romantically involved with the Night Stalker (Zach Villa). But it still seems very much like a camp slasher movie, and that's that.
Plus, it hasn't been very scary. A few jump scares is not why...

What distinguishes true love and close friendship? Can you simply choose to be attracted to your best friend? And does sex ruin everything? These are just some of the interesting questions implicit in the lighthearted, indie film festival hit BFFs. While the movie does not pretend to extend long-lasting answers to these quandaries, it genuinely entertains with its fresh approach to the traditional best-friends, rom-com formula: two friends—two straight, female friends—who may not realize they are attracted to each other.
The story follows two forty-somethings, Kat and Samantha, who pose as lovers at a couples’ therapy retreat in Southern California. Kat’s latest relationship foible leads her mother (played by her real-life mother, comedian Pat Carroll), after a series of judgmental and belittling comments, to suggest a weekend away to repair the relationship between Kat and her ex-boyfriend. In a drunken-stupor, however, Samantha convinces Kat that it would...

From Left to Right Tara Karsian and Andrea Grano
A few days ago I had the chance to talk to Tara Karsian and Andrea Grano about their upcoming film BFFs, which is out today on iTunes, Amazon, Brighthouse, Comcast Xfinity, Cox, and Time Warner.
The film two straight friends who go into couples therapy, they're so convincing that even they start to question their relationship.
Here is what Tara Karsian and Andrea Grano had to say about the film, which they both wrote and star in.
Tara, the question for you, Pat Carroll is your mom, correct? She's in the movie. What is it like working with your mother on onfilm, and would you do it again?
Tara Karsian: Never again. No I'm kidding, it was wonderful and we have never gotten to do that. The back story is that Andrea actually wrote her in, I did not, so it's only Andrea's fault.

“There is one final capstone to place on this monument of dishonesty.”
‘Catfish, Haunted House’ is relatively low-key for an episode of Review. It’s not because Forrest somehow has a normal set of experiences. In fact, he loses his life’s savings, perpetrates fraud on his ex wife, and is stabbed and knocked down the stairs by the matriarch of the Chinese family who purchased his and Suzanne’s old home. The mild tone comes from something much more sinister: Forrest is getting used to this. In retrospect this monstrous acclimation has been coming since ‘Pancakes, Divorce, Pancakes,” a day when Forrest’s life was both arrested and blown wide open by the twin horrors of grief and soul-crushing apathy. “These pancakes couldn’t kill me,” Forrest dully narrated, “because I was already dead.”
Sooner or later everything had to start looking like pancakes to Forrest, a man so...

Written by stars Tara Karsian and Andrea Grano and directed by Andrew Putschoegl, "BFFs" is a warm, winning female buddy comedy that turns the genre on its head in gently surprising ways. Its subversive story turns on Kat (Karsian) and Samantha (Grano), the titular best buddies whose middling ruts find them pretending to be lovers to land a spot at a poolside couple's retreat. The retreat is ridiculously called "Closer to Closeness" -- exactly the kind of thing most discerning couples looking to rebuild themselves should avoid, right? By the end of this weekend of relationship boot-camp, these eccentric BFFs are entangled in unexpected ways -- from befriending their fellow, and rather vanilla, couples in crisis (both straight and gay), to wondering if there may actually be some chemical fizzle between them. The film has wended its ways along the festival circuit -- and down the California coast -- from Santa Barbara to Newport Beach.
