Justin Hartley as Jake Turner in ‘The Noel Diary’ (Photo Credit: Kc Bailey/Netflix © 2022)
Justin Hartley’s first big project released post-This Is Us will be Netflix’s The Noel Diary, a drama set around the holidays and based on the novel by Richard Paul Evans. Today, Netflix released the first photo featuring Justin Hartley and a canine co-star. The streaming service also announced they’ve set a November 24, 2022 premiere date.
Director Charles Shyer adapted the novel with Rebecca Connor and David Golden.
“I wanted to adapt this novel for a few different reasons. The story of The Noel Diary felt to me like one that could comfortably embrace humor and humanity – while at the same time offer great visual and directorial possibilities. A movie that, as Billy Wilder once said, ‘Could make ’em laugh and make ’em cry.’ I chose to cast Justin Hartley from his work on This Is Us.

Lifetime’s upcoming movie Girl In Room 13, starring Anne Heche, is still scheduled to premiere in September, the network said during the film’s panel Thursday at the Television Critics Association virtual press tour. Heche, who was originally scheduled to appear on the panel, remains hospitalized in critical condition following a car crash last week.
Amy Winter, executive VP and head of programming, addressed the issue at the top of the panel, and asked reporters to refrain from asking questions about the actor’s health status.
“As many of you know, Anne remains in critical condition and all of us here at Lifetime are deeply concerned for her and everyone affected,” Winter said. “We hope that her friends and family stay strong during this difficult time. You know, just as much as we do, that we ask that you kindly refrain from inquiring about her health status. This project is important to Anne,...

Chicago – What was once an “event” – even the the most medium level animated film was a rare movie occasion – has now become commonplace in the film market. Once that tipping point was reached, suddenly the event became just another weekend, with just another film like “Home.”
Rating: 2.5/5.0
To be fair, “Home” is aimed toward the younger set, who likes bathroom jokes and gags using nacho cheese (in 3D!), but on the adult level, these films have become a bit cynical, more marketing vehicles than notable works. Like last year’s “The Nut Job” and “Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return,” the formula seems to be get some familiar stars to do voice work, create a extreme concept or easy-to-follow story, and market, market, market to the kiddies. Who suffers for these economic model sins? The parents paying the 3D premium – the price level of which is up to a decent...

This week on the DreamWorks lot we were treated a sneak peek of their latest project Home. When Earth is taken over by the overly-confident Boov, an alien race in search of a new place to call home, all humans are promptly relocated, while all Boov get busy reorganizing the planet. But when one resourceful girl, Tip, (Rihanna, who also contributes a song) manages to avoid capture, she finds herself the accidental accomplice of a banished Boov named Oh (Jim Parsons). The two fugitives realize there’s a lot more at stake than intergalactic relations as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime. The film which is directed by Tim Johnson was on hand with his cast Jim Parsons, Rihanna and Steve Martin to answer a few questions.
According to Tim, the film actually wraps production in 5 to 6 weeks, they're in the home stretch. He was on hand...

Steve Martin and Jim Parsons may be big fancy stars, but Rihanna was the main attraction at today's footage screening and press Q&A for Dreamworks Animations' "Home." Dressed in a short red dress and white sneakers (and approached by several journalists/fans as she made her way out of the theater), the pop star voices the role of middle-schooler "Tip" in the forthcoming animated adventure, which centers on the relationship between Tip and a diminutive purple-hued "Boov" alien named "Oh" (Parsons) after Earth is invaded by the the Boov race and its villainous leader Captain Smek (Martin). But anyway, Rihanna! She looked fantastic and seemed very nice. Below are nine other things we learned at today's press event. 1. Stars, they cry at Hollywood production meetings just like us! "There's one specific point in the movie that really wrecked me," said Rihanna. "And I feel like it's gonna kill everybody...

The first panel of the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con kicked off this morning with DreamWorks Animation’s Hall H presentation. Starting the proceedings was a first-look clip from Tim Johnson’s Home, featuring the voice of The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons as Oh, a bumbling alien from a race known as the Boov. When his people invade and take over Earth as their new permanent residence, the banished Oh teams up with Rihanna (in the guise of human girl, Tip) to save the world. The clip took place after the Boov have settled into their new digs, in this instance the roomy rues of gay Paris. The Eiffel Tower has been rechristened 'The Great Antenna' and floated above the city on an inverted dome of rock, like a French iteration of Warcraft’s Dalaran. Tip and Oh are surrounded by the Boovian army, led by Steve Martin’s megalomaniacal general and a botched execution,...

Directed by Todd Freeman
Runtime 4 minutes
Written and directed by Todd Freeman, M is for Marriage (formerly titled Love Sick) is a short film currently in the running for a spot in the upcoming anthology horror film ABCs of Death 2.

It is simply but effectively shot and edited, and the Special Effects are amazing. I think the other...
