Of course it would start with White Zombie.
This 180 gram vinyl release comes in deluxe packaging, with new artwork by Graham Humphreys and liner notes and interviews by Rob Zombie. You can take a look at the White Zombie package at the bottom of this article.

Before becoming one of the most divisive filmmakers in horror with the likes of Halloween and The Munsters, Rob Zombie was just a musician trying his hand at the film industry. House of 1000 Corpses came together fairly quickly following a failed attempt to reboot The Crow, but the rock star’s Hollywood career almost never was due to post-production controversy that left his directorial debut on the shelf for three years.
Production on Corpses was completed in 2000 before Universal Studios refused to release it due to its objectionable content. MGM later came on board to distribute it in 2002 until a tongue-in-cheek remark by Zombie caused them to cancel the deal. Finally, Lions Gate signed on and released it in April of 2003, launching Zombie’s film career as well as a franchise that would be followed by 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects and 2019’s 3 from Hell.

Rob Zombie and Waxwork Records have joined forces to release an exclusive, curated line of classic horror movie soundtracks.
The series, called Rob Zombie Presents, will offer several never-before-released film soundtracks that Zombie personally selected.
“I have always been a huge fan of movie soundtracks, so I jumped at the opportunity to work with Waxwork on this project,” Zombie said in a statement. “I can’t wait to release these albums. So many of these films are greatly under-appreciated and they all contain such great music. So to be able to release these deluxe packages is a dream come true.”
The first soundtrack to be released is fittingly the one for White Zombie. The 1932 film starring Bela Lugosi is considered the first-ever zombie movie, and inspired the name for Rob Zombie’s former band, White Zombie. According to a release, the film was “slammed by critics upon its release” but...

Anthony Perkins in Edge Of Sanity (1989) will be available on Special Edition Blu-ray June 21st from Arrow Video
Anthony Perkins builds upon his legendary status as cinema’s seminal psycho in Edge of Sanity, a delirious conflation of Robert Louis Stephenson’s classic horror novella ‘Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ and Jack the Ripper’s real-life reign of terror over Victorian London.
When his experiments into a powerful new anaesthetic go hideously awry, respected physician Dr Jekyll (Perkins) takes off into the night, casting aside the shackles of upper-class propriety as he disappears into the shadowy decadent demimonde of Whitechapel in pursuit of sensual pleasures under the guise of ‘Mr Hyde’. As his wife Elisabeth (Glynis Barber) passes her time in charitable work, rehabilitating the district’s fallen women, Hyde is drawn into an escalating cycle of lust and murder that seems to know no bounds.

Though the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival is not until November they're going to steal the spotlight for a moment today so we may marvel at this year's poster. This beauty was designed and illustrated by the illustrious British artist Graham Humphreys at the bequest of Trieste's new artistic director, Alan Jones. Humphreys took inspiration from science fiction cinema that he loved as a child, films that were about the danger of space travel, rebellious plantlife, nuclear peril, the 'false' Maria and much more. Jones asked Humphreys to put all of this together within a 'Hammer meets Punk" dayglo look. Yeah. Mission accomplished. Read all about the inspirations for this year's poster down below. And while we have your attention also note that the festival...

In recent years the movie poster has travelled far beyond its street level attention-grabbing origins. Yet, the modern Orange/Teal action shots or Photoshop Face Mountains are perfunctory adornments to a movie’s marketing onslaught, lacking the artistry and invention of what has come before. But not all movie posters are created equally.
An iconic image, such as a shark rising to meet a swimmer above it instantly brings Spielberg’s Jaws to mind. Likewise a simple glance at the posters for Vertigo, The Man with the Golden Arm or Anatomy of a Murder tell us it is the work of Saul Bass. These posters show the power of the art and the artist. Modern masters such as Drew Struzan and Olly Moss have wildly varied styles, but both have the same aim – to get you excited about watching the film. They are works of art in their own right.

There has been an explosion in recent years of documentaries taking a look back at VHS, mainly from an American perspective (and often focussing more on the current rarity of said tapes rather than the nostalgia factor) with films like Rewind This! and Adjust Your Tracking. However here in the UK most documentaries related to the VHS era have focussed more on the video nasties (think Jake West & Marc Morris’ two popular docs). However 2014’s VHS Forever? Psychotronic People took a fond look back on the early days of video from a very British perspective, including the underground videotape scene in the UK – in particular those folks connected to the Camden-based video store known as Psychotronic Video – and those who lived through that period of time, including the likes of Evil Dead artist Graham Humphreys, screenwriter David McGillivray, journalist Allan Bryce and director Norman J. Warren.

Nico Mastorakis’ Death Has Blue Eyes (1976) will be available on Blu-ray April 6th from Arrow Video
Death Has Blue Eyes is a gripping paranormal action thriller with shades of giallo from the director of the cult classic video nasty Island of Death (1976).
When local gigolo Chess (Chris Nomikos) greets his vacationing friend Bob Kovalski (Peter Winter) at Athens airport, the pair embark on a string of scams and erotic dalliances that eventually lead them into contact with an elegant wealthy woman, Geraldine Steinwetz (Jessica Dublin), and her glamorous daughter Christine (Maria Aliferi). Geraldine blackmails the two cheeky bachelor boys into acting as bodyguards for Christine, whom it transpires has telepathic abilities and has had her eye on them for some time. After fleeing from a series of assassination attempts, it soon becomes clear that Geraldine herself might not be quite whom she seems, as the two young men find themselves...

Well looky here. We have your first look at the final art for the PG Limited "Hunky Boy" Ultimate Edition from our friends at Raven Banner Entertainment. This is our first look at the front side of the reversible cover art, a hilarious tribute to key art for far friendlier family films. The reverse side will be the artwork from Graham Humphreys. We also have a glimpse of the five trading cards that come with this edition. You got Mimi, Luke, Pandora and PG and the reverse side of another card that reads 'Wielding a weapon constructed of from his enemies' entrails, The Archduke Of Nightmares is ready for battle! and below that is the great line from the film, "I do not care...

Due to the continuing Covid-19 restrictions on social distancing, Arrow FrightFest’s traditional five day event in August has been regretfully put on hold. Instead, the organisers are planning to expand their traditional all-day Halloween event at the end of October.
Alan Jones, co-director, said today:
Sadly, we won’t be able to come together and celebrate our 21st year in the summer but rest assured, we will make our London Halloween event one to remember. FrightFest has always been about the genre community joining together, not just to embrace films but to demonstrate our unique spirit of supportive closeness.
The pandemic hasn’t stopped graphic artist Graham Humphreys from creating this year’s stunning Monster art (see below). In fact, it inspirationally reflects the extraordinary and unexpected turn of events. Humphreys comments:
The image presented a huge challenge. Not only had the pandemic erased any hope of a regular FrightFest schedule,...

In the music scene of the 60’s you had two bands that stood on their own: the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. In films of the same period and into the early 70s, Amicus and Hammer were the Beatles and the Stones of the horror film genre. At their best, both reflected the popular tastes of era as it pertained to movies of this type. The early 70s saw creative highlights. With Hammer it was the Carmilla trilogy, Vampire Circus, Captain Kronos and, with Amicus, we had the splendid portmanteau films which had started with Dr Terrors House of Horrors and reaching their creative peak at the beginning of the new decade. Two of the company’s best efforts are now released by Second Sight on Blu-ray as stand-alone discs after appearing as part of a boxed set last year, The House That Dripped Blood and Asylum...

If you’re a fan of American Werewolf In London, Arrow’s latest Blu-ray release of the film will leave you salivating as much as the film’s titular beast. Crammed full of extras, it’s simply stunning and the key point here is that these are mainly new features and are as informative and essential as the best-ever “making of documentary, Beware The Moon by Paul Davis, that appears here, as it did on the film’s previous releases. This Arrow release is a full Rick Baker-style transformation from good to great as far as quality and content is concerned.
Awil is easily one of Arrow’s most impressive releases and finally does justice to what is a fully fledged cult classic. Not only are the extras superb but the transfer of the film itself is outstanding.

“Nightbreed” is a movie I’d wanted to see for many years. I’m not in a minority. I have the excuse that I missed its initial limited theatrical run and simply never got round to seeing it. Later, whenever I went to hire it from the video store on its VHS release , it was always rented out- no doubt due to its then blossoming cult status. However, those that did see it initially also desperately wanted to see it again. By that I mean that the print that was first shown in theatres and released for home entertainment wasn’t even close to the vision director and author Clive Barker had for the project. It was, as many classics have been, butchered as unsympathetically as the creatures the film celebrated by those “above” who simply didn’t understand or care. This is touched upon in Arrow...

James Stewart in Anthony Mann’s The Far Country will be available on Blu-ray November 12th From Arrow Academy
An archetypal example of its genre, The Far Country is one of five superb westerns the screen legend James Stewart made with acclaimed Hollywood auteur Anthony Mann.
Mann s film tells of Jeff Webster (Stewart) and his sidekick Ben Tatum: two stoic adventurers driving cattle to market from Wyoming to Canada who come to logger heads with a corrupt judge and his henchmen. Ruth Romain (Strangers on a Train) plays a sultry saloon keeper who falls for Stewart, teaming up with him to take on the errant lawman.
An epic saga set during the heady times of the Klondike Gold Rush, The Far Country captures the scenic grandeur of northern Canada s icy glaciers and snow-swept mountains in vivid Technicolor. Mann s direction expertly steers the film to an unorthodox,...
