Arguably, British tech ensemble Bugs paved the way for the likes of Spooks, Sherlock, Torchwood and more...
It feels a long time ago that watching Saturday night TV with the family was the norm, but back in the 1990s, millions crowded around the box for the likes of Noel's House Party, Due South, The Generation Game, and of course, Bugs. The latter ran for four series between 1995 and 1999 and arguably holds the distinction of being embryonic of later, more intensive, tech-heavy UK shows including Spooks and Sherlock.

Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has warned that an attraction could develop between her character Sally Webster and evil Frank Foster. Sally is currently dating model agent Jeff Cullen (Steve Houghton), but their romance hits the rocks later this week. The mum-of-two falls out with Jeff when she discovers that he has encouraged her daughter Rosie (Helen Flanagan) to sell the story of her recent kidnap ordeal to a newspaper. Sally has a showdown with Jeff at Sophie's birthday party after the article is published. Dynevor told Take It Easy: "[The article] mentions that Sally had breast cancer and Sophie is a lesbian. Sally finishes with him when she finds out. "She is just so upset by everyone taking the mickey out of her and she loses the plot for half an hour and goes completely mad at Jeff. More recently, Sally has been torn between Kevin and new love Jeff (Steve Houghton), while an upcoming storyline will see her start working for evil Frank Foster (Andrew Lancel). Dynevor told Soaplife: "I'm so lucky with the storylines I keep getting - Sally unexpectedly sleeping with Kevin again, Jeff coming back on the scene and, looking to the future, some very interesting scenes with Frank. Coronation Street bosses have fresh battles ahead for the Webster family as Rosie's racy return plot gets under way, a report has claimed. As revealed back in June, flirtatious Rosie will try to seduce her mother Sally's boyfriend Jeff Cullen once she makes her cobbles comeback later this year. More details about the forthcoming storyline have emerged today as the Daily Star reports that Rosie puts her plan into action after discovering that Sally and Kevin have had a one-night stand. Keen to break up her mum's relationship with Jeff (Steve Houghton), Rosie apparently sets a honey trap by making a move on him while wearing a skimpy outfit. Jeff is believed to stay loyal to Sally (Sally Dynevor) by rejecting Rosie's advances, but the schemer soon spills tea on him and starts pulling his trousers off. It's a rare criminal who gets stopped by the police for knitting.
But that's what happened in the shadow of Big Ben, where a covert London posse called Knit the City attempted to cover a Parliament Square telephone box in a knitted cozy, when two bobbies beckoned.
"They immediately started questioning us," says the group's founder, Lauren O'Farrell. "As soon as I told them it was a craft instead of an art project, they were more amenable. If I'd said it was art, it might have suggested something deep and meaningful. But the looks on people's faces completely changed. It made their day. To have that kind of effect makes you want to do it more."

The actress told Inside Soap: "Jeff's attractive, funny and listens. But who knows? Perhaps she should have a fling with Tommy Duckworth - that (more)...

Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has claimed that Kevin Webster should be making more of an effort to win back her character Sally. The pair had an acrimonious split last year after Sally found out about Kevin's affair with Molly Dobbs. Since then, they have been embroiled in a series of petty squabbles. Speaking in an interview with Soaplife, Dynevor admitted that she does not think Kevin is doing enough to show Sally how sorry he is. She explained: "If I were Kevin's friend, I'd tell him to try harder. Where are the flowers? The promises that he'll change? Make things better? Kevin doesn't do anything."
