Team Ninja has announced that Dead or Alive 5 Plus is currently scheduled to launch for the PlayStation Vita on March 20, 2013 in Japan and two days later on March 22nd in the UK. A release date for North America was not announced, however, the Japan and UK dates seem to indicate that the fighter will meet its planned worldwide ”March 2013″ release window.
According to a Famitsu report, the announcement was made by the game’s producer Yosuke Hayashi at a Tecmo Koei official tournament in Tokyo this past weekend. Hayashi also told attendees at the event that Team Ninja had not originally planned to port Dead or Alive 5 to the Vita but changed their mind after receiving fan requests for a handheld version of the popular fighting game.
Dead or Alive 5 Plus is “still in the development phase” but already runs at “almost” 60 frames per second, according to Hayashi. The producer added,...

So, are additional Dlc characters in fighting games unfair? Especially paid Dlc characters? Team Ninja boss, Yosuke Hayashi, believes so as he revealed to VideoGamer in an interview recently.
Hayashi has stressed that Team Ninja’s upcoming game, Dead or Alive 5, will not feature any purchasable Dlc characters.
“We have no plans to sell characters as downloadable content,” said Hayashi in the interview, referring to Dead or Alive 5.
That will be good news for fighting fans, who have had other publishers shove on-disc Dlc characters into fighting games. With Dead or Alive 5, all 20+ characters being crafted for the game will be made readily available without additional purchasing. Hayashi provided a few reasons for this method of approach. He stated:
“We don’t feel that it’s right for fighting games.
“It makes it an unfair game, and we don’t think that’s the right way to go for fighting games.

Dead or Alive 5 will "push the envelope for fighting games",Yosuke Hayashi has claimed. The fighting series is known for its destructible environments and the Team Ninja producer promised that the sequel will continue to evolve the feature. Hayashi told Eurogamer: "We wanted to bring that into the modern gameplay and update that into modern action elements. "Now you're able to focus on different areas of where you want to launch your opponent, and we have several different sorts of dynamic attractions in the stage so that players can enjoy that sort of aspect even more." Hayashi added that it is Team Ninja's intent to offer a new fighting experience for players. "There have been some great fighting games that have come (more)...

"Dead or Alive" is such a weird series. What started out as a fast-paced 3D fighting game from Team Ninja somehow morphed into this franchise about women with ridiculous breast physics. Few other developers can claim they took a fighting genre title and somehow spun the story off wherein a main character tricks women into vacationing on an island – and playing bikini volleyball.
Regardless, "Dead or Alive 5" is on its way, and there's no immediate signs of volleyball or shopping.
According to VG24/7, Team Ninja held a pre-Tokyo Game Show event in Tokyo's Shibuya district last night, titled "Unmask." The developers formally announced "Dead or Alive 5" during the event, stating that the game would find its way to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012. You can check out some pre-alpha gameplay right here.

I've been hearing some grumbling around E3 this year in regards to "Ninja Gaiden 3." I overheard someone yesterday saying, "They've ruined it; The game is just full of quick-time events." That sounded pretty awful, but I tried to enter my hands-on time with Ryu Hyabusa today with an open mind. My hesitation quickly turned into dread, unfortunately, when the game immediately started giving me on-screen prompts to mash the X-button to pull off an execution.
The good news is, after speaking to a Team Ninja representative this morning, this entire hubbub over "Ninja Gaiden" going "God of War" may just be a huge misunderstanding.
I'll get back to that quick-time event issue, but first, let me tell you more about the demo itself. My E3 play session began with the game's protagonist, Ryu Hyabusa, being informed that he was to take off for London. Apparently, some terrorists have taken the Prime Minister and others hostage,...

The first details of Ninja Gaiden 3 have emerged from developer Team Ninja. Project lead Yosuke Hayashi told PlayStation: The Official Magazine (via Gamesthirst) that the title will include a "complex" multiplayer mode, but didn't elaborate further on specific features. The game's campaign will be redesigned so it's more accessible, but Hayashi stressed that it won't be made easier. "We know that many fans feel good about the difficulty level, but we are taking a slightly different approach," he said. "It's not that the game's going to be easier - nothing like that. It's just that we are trying to make a whole game, a more exciting game that can be enjoyed by anyone." (more)...

There isn't even an announced release date yet for "Ninja Gaiden 3," but rest assured it is coming. Team Ninja needs to give fans some time to replace all of those smashed controllers that were victims of the first two games' exceedingly high level of difficulty. It may be coming sooner than you think, however, as "NG3" director Yosuke Hayashi dropped a few hints about the game's multiplayer component in a recent interview.
Well, only one hint, really: Hayashi told Oxm (via GameThirst) that the game will feature a "complex multiplayer mode." End of story. On that front at least.
He also addressed the coming game's difficulty, stating that it will be a bit of a departure from the two previous releases, both of which were designed by Tomonobu Itagaki, who resigned from his post shortly before the release of "Ninja Gaiden 2" in 2008.

The Metroid series is to cameo in Dead Or Alive Dimensions, it has been revealed. Team Ninja boss Yosuke Hayashi told Eurogamer that a stage based on Metroid: Other M is to feature in the fighting game. "The concept of [Dimensions] is basically to create the best version of Dead or Alive," he said. "Actually, for the Metroid collaboration we had help from Nintendo and they're really friendly with us. But the concept of Dead or Alive as the best version of the game means Samus Aran or Metroid is something different. That's why we are not focusing on (more)...

Initially, Team Ninja made it sound though we were going to have to wait until 2011 to hear more about "Ninja Gaiden 3." A few more sketchy details have emerged, however, including the fact that a prototype of the game exists and Tn wants to take the series back to its roots.
Addressing how "3" would compare to its two most recent predecessors, Team Ninja leader Yosuke Hayashi told Famitsu (according to a report on Siliconera) that his developers would be tied down to old games but that they hope to go back to the more basic elements of the "Gaiden" games and use them to director where the new game goes.
Additionally, some more translation work and analysis over at Andriasang confirmed that there's something weird going on with the blood seen in the poster image that premiered earlier this year. That teaser image contained a few symbols and references to Ryu...

Another old name resurfaced alongside Frank West in Tokyo Game Show news this week as Team Ninja broke out a piece of artwork to show that "Ninja Gaiden 3" is going to happen. Just don't expect to hear much more about the project until sometime in 2011.
The new sequel will share its developers' resources with two other projects in the coming year, "Dead or Alive: Dimensions" and a samurai action game called "Ni-oh," Team Ninja leader Yosuke Hayashi said, according to report on GamePro.com.
As an analysis over on VideoGamer.com points out, the image may contain a few clues beyond the obvious presence of excessive blood. Zooming in on Ryu Hayabusa's eyes reveals both a strange white face in a dark cloak and the shape of what appears to be a flame. So expect dark themes, and expect there to be some messy red violence involved in the story...
