- Isser Harel was born in 1912 in Vitebsk, Russian Empire [now Vitsyebsk, Belarus]. He was a writer, known for The House on Garibaldi Street (1979), A Bomb in the Basement (2001) and Strafsache 4 Ks 2/63 - Auschwitz vor dem Frankfurter Schwurgericht (1993). He was married to Rivka Harel. He died on February 18, 2003 in Petah Tikva, Israel.
