“Flight Risk” is taking off with Great Point, which has boarded sales on the U.S.-produced thriller. The film follows a group of strangers who wake up with amnesia on a bullet-ridden plane. Luis Prieto, who helmed the remake of Nicolas Winding Refn’s “Pusher,” is attached to direct.
The action thriller is being produced by L.A.-based Automatic Media’s Ray Haboush (“The Last House on the Left”) and Robert Aaronson (“Chocolate City”). Great Point co-founders Robert Halmi and Jim Reeve will exec produce.
The story follows the strangers as they wake up on the plane, which is running on autopilot. They have no idea who they are, how they got there or who they can trust. “I was immediately hooked by the brilliant concept at the heart of this project, and I’m excited by the possibilities for an amazing cinematic experience,” Prieto said.

Back in May we reported on the announcement that Halcyon International Pictures was preparing a slate of low budget movies based on classic movie monsters under the "Famous Monsters of Filmland" banner. What better day than Halloween to bring you word of the trailer for the first in this new horror series: Dracula: Reborn?
Dracula: Reborn is a low budget retelling of Bram Stoker's classic vampire tale transplanted to modern day Los Angeles. Victoria Summer of The Zombie Diaries stars as Mina Harker. Corey Landis, one of the stars of Dinocroc vs. Supergator, co-stars as Johnathan Harker. In the role of Dracula himself is Stuart McKenna, an actor whose most high profile credit to this day would appear to be that of a Tom Cruise look-a-like in Meet the Spartans.

You might not know it yet, but Victoria Summer can do a little bit of everything.
A multitalented performer born in southeast England's bucolic Berkshire County, Summer trained as a dancer, a singer and an actress before landing her first movie role in 2008's The Zombie Diaries. She'll soon be starring in the upcoming film Dracula Reborn, a contemporary look at the classic tale by Bram Stoker. And although she's always loved scary movies, Summer didn't start out wanting to be one of the Count's bloody celluloid brides. Her heart belonged to the stage.
Summer started performing as a toddler. She began dance classes at age 3 and moved on to piano and acting lessons a few years later. "My acting debut was the lead in my Junior school Christmas concert. I was about 6 and I had a lot of lines," Summer remembers. "I went on to play an even bigger role in Senior school,...

Read our exclusive interview with British actress Victoria Summer, who was recently cast as Lina Harker in director/producer Ray Haboush’s remake of the classic horror movie ‘Dracula Reborn.’ Summer is a familiar face to horror fans, as she previously starred in the films ‘The Zombie Diaries’ and ‘Horror Zombies.’ She discusses with us what attracts her to horror movies, and her love of singing and performing on-stage in front of audiences in theater productions. Shockya (Sy): You just finished filming the upcoming horror film ‘Dracula Reborn,’ a modernization of the Dracula story, in which you play Lina Harker, the vampire’s love interest. Horror remakes are definitely the hot new trend in Hollywood and I had no idea just how many remakes were being planned until I sat down and drew up a list of as many as I could find. I stopped at 7 pages and needless to say it seems that just about every movie you can imagine is getting a remake-prequel or reboot into 3D.
Here is a pretty complete list of upcoming horror remakes as of today in alphabetical order. Note: There are a few on this list that are only in the early phases of discussion and in some cases I included franchise reboots as well.
13 Tzameti: Starting the list off 13 Tzameti is more thriller then horror but still worthy of making the list. The film which started filming in New York awhile back will star Mickey Rourke and Jason Statham. The original film is a tale of Russian roulette with gruesome outcomes.

Stuart Gordon's Re-animator is one of my all-time favorite horror flicks, and though I would instinctively fear the notion of remaking it, there's certainly something intriguing about the idea of gruesome innards blasting from the screen in three dimensions. But alas, despite recent rumors that a 3D Re-animator remake is in the works, those rumors remain precisely that. Styd spoke with producer Ray Haboush, who dismissed all gossip about writer, director, cast or shooting location...

With all the nonsense swirling about on other sites about casting, start dates, etc., it's hard to know exactly what's true and what's not. Do we cover it? Should we cover it? We've consumed a ton of aspirin over the last week as a result. I can tell you that this will be the final mention of Re-Animator 3D here until someone signs a damned contract.
Shock Till You Drop got to the bottom of things by going to producer Ray Haboush:
"This current rumor about Elisha Cuthbert appearing in the remake of Re-Animator is just that - a rumor," he says. "Actually the whole idea that we are remaking the movie this summer, in Spain nonetheless, is completely off base ... especially as no talent - writer, director, nor actor - has been attached to this project in any capacity whatsoever. We have been discussing amongst ourselves the idea...

The Re-Animator remake, we first broke the news to you about here , is indeed on the table. But it is not as far along as some news sources (throwing attached names like Elisha Cuthbert around) claim it is. Earlier this month, I caught up to director Stuart Gordon who was unaware of executive producer Ray Haboush's plans to redo the '85 film in 3-D ( read about that here ). Haboush, of Halcyon International Pictures, is now speaking out about the recent rumors and the status of the remake. "This current rumor about Elisha Cuthbert appearing in the remake of Re-Animator is just that - a rumor," he says. Yes, in case you were wondering, they really are remaking Stuart Gordon’s ’80s horror flick “Re-Animator” as previously reported, and no, Jeffrey Combs won’t be reprising his role as mad scientist Doctor Herbert West. Instead, the remake will go the “younger” route (as all remakes do), and besides starring Ezra Godden in the lead, Elisha Cuthbert has also been added to the cast as Godden’s girlfriend. Lucky bastard. Horror-movies.ca has your reanimated news: Producers Brian Yuzna (the original Re-Animator) and Ray Haboush (The Last House of the Left) have confirmed in an exclusive interview to the spanish magazine ‘Fotogramas’ that they are going ahead with the remake of Re-Animator. The remake will be shot entirely in Spain and will start as early as next summer! Yuzna also confirms that this is not a new chapter in the Re-Animator saga, but a remake of the first one...

Well, boys and girls, it looks like we now know who the new Herbert West is going to be. But first things first.
According to HorrorMovies.ca (but unconfirmed): "Producers Brian Yuzna (the original Re-Animator) and Ray Haboush (The Last House of the Left) have confirmed in an exclusive interview [with] Spanish magazine 'Fotogramas' that they are going ahead with the remake of Re-Animator. The remake will be shot entirely in Spain and will start as early as next summer!"
Other details include the news that what we'll be seeing isn't a "new chapter" but rather a true remake of the original, and yes, Jeffrey Combs will have a small part. So, if Jeffrey isn't reprising the role of Dr. West, who can we expect to see don the white lab coat? None other than Ezra Godden, whose name might not be all that familiar but surely the face is.

Seems Elisha Cuthbert has a new gig in the upcoming remake of Re-Animator. According to HorrorMovies.ca producers Brian Yuzna and Ray Haboush are doing the remake in Spain this summer.
The remake they say is not a remake as much as a new story. For those who loved the original Jeffrey Combs will be back but he will be back in a cameo and not as the lead character which is a real shame.

Sifting through press notes often yields details on upcoming films. I read 'em. It's part of the job. And it was in the the notes for Rogue Pictures' upcoming The Last House on the Left where I discovered details on the potential Re-Animator remake we reported on last weekend . The news came via a career bio on executive producer Ray Haboush. Most mini-bios for press notes need to be approved by the talent before they go to print; so keeping that in mind, we presumed the Re-Animator redo news was solid enough for an announcement. But it appears someone jumped the gun. Last night, I caught up to original Re-Animator helmer Stuart Gordon who admitted to seeing the news break and being confused, especially after getting off the phone with producer Brian Yuzna....

Just about a week ago we told you about an interview in which producer Ray Haboush spoke about a supposed Re-Animator redux in 3D. Now we are here to tell you that it all could have been a load of crap.
Shock Till You Drop caught up with Stuart Gordon tonight, and he seemed pretty surprised by last week's bit of breaking news.
"I contacted Brian [Yuzna] and he didn't know anything about it, Gordon tells Shock. "I said, 'What's going with the remake?' And he asked, 'What remake?'"
And just like that, a project seemingly dies. Now if only that god-awful looking "Herbert West: Re-Animator The Series" could meet the same fate!

The good doctor Herbert West has defied death before and now he's looking to make a comeback. Not in a sequel, however, but in a remake. (C'mon, don't act surprised.) ShockTillYouDrop.com has learned producer Ray Haboush is developing a remake of Stuart Gordon's "Re-animator". Haboush operates Automatic Media and is the owner of Halcyon International Pictures. He'll be shepherding the project with Brian Yuzna, producer of the original '85 and director of "Bride Of Re-animator" and "Beyond Re-animator". There have been talks in the past of a "House Of Re-animator" and a television series. None of which have come to fruition. Haboush and Yuzna are looking to do the remake in 3-D. While producer Brian Yuzna is developing a remake of his 1985 classic Re-animator (in tandem with Ray Haboush’s Halcyon International Pictures, and set to be shot in 3-D!), development of a new TV series based on H.P. Lovecraft’s mad scientist Herbert West and various classic Hpl stories is progressing simultaneously in Hollywood. An anonymous source sent Fango a few exclusive pics (see ‘em below the cut) and the official show synopsis for Herbert West—Re-animator: The Series, a syndicated project currently in development at William (Furnace) Butler’s Transition Films.
Butler himself, on his way to Italy to shoot Demonic Toys 2 for Charles Band (see item here, where he discussed the project under his alias Silvia St. Croix), came clean to Fango with further details. (Ironically, the 1985 Re-animator film initially began life as a cable miniseries, before Yuzna, director Stuart Gordon and co-screenwriters Dennis Paoli and William J. Norris...

Stuart Gordon, creator of the “Re-Animator” franchise, recently tried to get the latest installment of his horror series made, but ran up against political correctness. Or as Gordon tells it, people loves George W. Bush so much, they can’t stand a movie mocking him. (Obviously Gordon believes this, as he’s kind of loopy in the head.) Apparently with Obama in office, the mega love for Dubya is gone, and now it’s time for … “Re-Animator” the Reboot! (Just go along with it.) Jeez... you get one 3-D horror remake that makes $65 million and suddenly it's the next big thing. Thanks to the moderate success of My Bloody Valentine 3-D, apparently now we can expect every single horror remake currently in development to change its course and add 3-D technology as well. I guess it's irrelevant that My Bloody Valentine was released in the middle of January, without much competition (aside from Paul Blart, of course). Just last week we reported on rumours that Michael Bay's remake of The Birds was aiming to go three-dimensional, and now this week we are hearing that a Re-Animator remake is also going 3-D as well. The 1985 cult classic "Re-Animator" is getting a re-boot. The horror flick is up for a 3-D remake, with original film producer Brian Yuzna developing the project.
According to ShockTillYouDrop.com, Yuzna will team with producer Ray Haboush to develop the project for his Automatic Media and Halcyon International Pictures.
The film, based on the novel by H.P. Lovecraft, tells the story of Dr. Herbert West (Jeffrey Combs), a doctor who was expelled from a Swiss institute who moves to New England to continue developing his formula to revive the dead.
Stuart Gordon directed the original film.

I don't buy into the cult classic phenomenon all that often. For example, Donnie Darko does nothing for me, and neither does Stuart Gordon's Re-Animator, a film I finally saw a year or so ago and wasn't impressed or entertained in the least. So, when I hear a remake of Re-Animator is on the way it's hard to drum up any interest either way. However, I will say I fully expect a new version to improve on the original. The news comes from Shock Till You Drop who says producer Ray Haboush is developing a remake to the 1985 feature that only screened in 185 theaters back in the mid-80s on its way to just barely over $2 million. The film, which is based on a story by H.P. Lovecraft centering on a medical student with a bizarre interest in re-animating dead tissue, has found plenty of life and a following on home video.

For a while there it looked like we might actually (eventually) get a movie called House of Re-Animator from director Stuart Gordon. But, as is often the case, nifty ideas often get replaced by more pressing issues, and so it's not a huge shock to learn that instead of another sequel, it might just be remake time. And these guys better not eff around, because Re-Animator is one of my top ten horror flicks of all time. Yes, seriously.
According to the Rotten dude at Shock, producer Ray Haboush is looking to work with longtime horror guy Brian Yuzna, who's got a whole lot of experience with the Re-Animator franchise. Info-wise, that's all we have so far, so don't bother asking about the potential involvement of Stuart Gordon or Jeffrey Combs (oooh, or Barbara Crampton, who is Still a doll). More details as they become available, and hey: At least...

After years of dubious rumors, ShockTillYouDrop has just reported that Ray Haboush is developing a remake of Stuart Gordon's Re-Animator. Before you begin to moan about another remake and Hollywood looking at the genre as being little more then a rehash factory, consider this: Brian Yuzna, producer of the original '85 and director of Bride of Re-Animator and Beyond Re-Animator. Haboush and Yuzna are looking to do the remake in 3-D. And since it's so early in the game, there's no word as to whether Combs would return to reprise his role, or if they'll find someone new to slip into Herbert West's lab coat.

Most of us are fans of the film Re-Animator, and honestly, if you're not, I really have to wonder what the hell you're doing here. Suffice it to say that if the visage of a head giving head doesn't instantly bring a smile to your face, then you should be surfing elsewhere. Well, after countless stories about the next chapter, we finally have some news that seems concrete.
Shock Till You Drop spoke with producer Ray Haboush today and learned that both he and series staple Brian Yuzna are looking to remake the movie in 3D.
No word on any casting or if Combs would be returning to the role which he made so famous, but we'll be monitoring the situation carefully.
Personally, the thought of entrails flying out of the screen tickles me fucking pink, so here's to hoping Yuzna and Haboush can get this puppy cooking.
