Neal Gold was one of Miami Beach's most promising future-stars during
the mid 1970s. Tall, handsome, well-built, and blonde-haired, Gold was
a poster-boy on how a movie-star should look. Not only blessed with
good-looks, Gold was a talented dancer, singer, and actor. As a drama
student at Miami Beach Senior High School, he excelled and starred in
numerous stage productions for well-known acting coach
Jay W. Jensen. Jensen, a Miami Beach
institute, taught drama for over 35 years, counting among his students
Andy Garcia,
Brett Ratner, and
Roy Firestone. Gold received rave
reviews for his role in the production of Hurray U.S.A. which played
before packed crowds at the Miami Beach Convention Center. This role
lead to a part in the now cult film ,
The Warriors. Neal Gold seemed on the verge
of a very promising acting career. However, due to various personal
issues,and a series of misfortunes, Gold's career sadly halted. He died
tragically way before his time. He will always be remembered for his
gleaming smile, charming personality, and his god-given gift to
entertain.
