Vee Gentile was born Vito Gentile on July 8, 1964 in Reading, Pennsylvania to Italian-American parents, Nice (Grande) and Domenico Gentile. His mother was a seamstress for several years eventually becoming a housewife and his father was a blue collar worker. Vito was one of three children, with an older brother and a younger sister.
He married his high school sweetheart, Carmen. They had one daughter and 4 grandchildren. During his high school years, he DJ'd at a local popular club and worked at his family-owned restaurant. After graduating high school, he became interested in acting after playing a small non-speaking role in an opera at a local theatre.
He enrolled in advanced acting courses in New York City taught by Edward DeLeo, a student of Lee Strasburg of Actor's Studio, New York City. In the early 1980's through the advice of Ed DeLeo, Vito interned at NBC Studios for daytime soap operas.
After several years, he lost interest in acting but stumbled upon an audition notice in the Hollywood Reporter magazine of a mini-series titled "Killer Angels", that was set to be filmed in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The plans for "Killer Angels" changed and became a major motion picture, "Gettysburg" produced by Ted Turner.
Gentile worked in the past with David Sheldon and Joan McCall on a book and a screenplay.
