Daughter (one of nine) of a railroad executive, born on a ranch in Argentina. In England from 1913. Began acting on stage in 1924, eventually joining a Shakespearean company in Stratford-upon-Avon. Later acted on the West End stage and in English films with BIP from 1931 to 1934. Appeared with Fred Astaire in London productions of "Lady, Be Good!" and "Funny Face". Her career diminished by the late 1930's.
