Urs Furrer was born on September 18, 1934 in Sumatra, Dutch East Indies [now Sumatra, Indonesia]. He was a cinematographer, known for Shaft (1971) and The Seven-Ups (1973). He died on August 30, 1975 in Detroit, Michigan, USA.
Born of Swiss parents in Indonesia, he began his photography career as
a youth before coming to the USA in the 1950s. He made many
documentaries as well as industrial films.
