- Randall Franks co-authored "Snake Oil, Superstars and Me" with "Doc" Tommy Scott and Shirley Noe Swiesz in 2007 for Katona Productions, Inc. The 700-page project featuring hundreds of photos is the autobiography of film and 1940s Grand Ole Opry star Scott.

The book featuring Franks celebrity friends favorite recipes raised close to over $27,000 for literacy efforts and won the W.G. Sutlive Trophy from the Georgia Press Association for Community Service.
