Exclusive: Good Deed Entertainment has acquired U.S. rights to the indie comedy That’s Funny, written, directed by, and starring Alex Grossman. Co-starring Ben Cain (Cruel Summer), Melanie Hutsell (Saturday Night Live), and Nicole Forester (Jack Reacher), the film arrives on Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, and Vudu on November 17 before opening in select theaters December 7.
That’s Funny centers on a middle-aged man (Grossman) so driven to realize his dream of becoming a comedian, he’s missing out on all the beautiful moments already before him. On his journey of transformation, he returns to the competitive world of stand-up comedy that takes him from Los Angeles to his hometown of Flint, Michigan. With humor and vulnerability, ultimately both his act and perspective evolve as he realizes the present moment is the best place to be.

The Caseys are back on TV in the Dick Wolf universe this May… sort of. Jesse Spencer, who played Captain Matt Casey on Chicago Fire for 10 seasons until his departure earlier this year, returns for the NBC drama’s finale on May 24. And the actress who played his sister is back on our screens as well, in a different capacity. Nicole Forester will be guest starring on CBS’ FBI: International — technically part of the same universe as Chicago Fire, via a P.D. crossover with FBI — in the May 17 episode as a new character. In “Black Penguin,” the Fly Team and Jaeger (Christiane Paul) — who was told she was basically fired, pending “the bureaucratic system” in the latest episode — head to Berlin when the 19-year-old son of an American billionaire is found unresponsive in his apartment. As the team seeks to determine if foul play was involved, they realize there...

Another horror film is set in another insane asylum. This time, the film is titled Eloise. The film is from director Robert Legato and writer Christopher Borrelli (The Vatican Tapes). Eloise joins a long list of horror films set in mental health institutions, including: Session 9 (2001), Psych 9 (2010), Blackburn (2015), and dozens of others. This time, the film was shot in one of the largest institutions, the Eloise Insane Asylum. Involving a death certificate and a large inheritance, the film's first trailer shows four friends, attacked by the hospital's supernatural past. The film hosts a recognizable cast. Eliza Dushku and Robert Patrick both star in this 2017 release. Dushku has appeared in several horror films, such as the cannibal thriller Wrong Turn (2003) and Open Graves (2009), while Patrick has starred in the recent Hellions (2015). The film hosts a large cast, which also includes: Chace Crawford and Nicole Forester. Fans of horror can see this diverse cast in early.

“Season of the Equinox, the witch besets her kill; one less soul in the town to know, taken against their will.”
A urban legend that nearly every child in the small town of Summerset has heard; a story passed down from generation to generation that offers just enough chills to keep the legend alive. However it seems the legend may be rooted in truth as seven year old Amanda Drake is swiped from her bedroom window. Always up for a good fright, 18 year old Zach and his friends decide to sneak into the woods and find the mysterious “Open Hearth”, the old house in the woods that once belonged to the witch. Unbeknown to Zach, his younger brother Max and his girlfriend Sammy sneak along. They all soon discover that folklore...

Director: Peter Winther. Writer: Michael Vickerman. Cast: Devon Werkheiser, Nicole Forester, Caitlin Carmichael, Diana Hopper and Cassie Keller. The Wicked is a horror title set for release through Image Entertainment. This direct-to-home video film focuses on urban legends and witchcraft. Apparently, Ladeanne Larene, the witch, has been killing kids near Bogie Lake for sometime. And, several local youths are barely up to the task of stopping her. Well shot and acted, The Wicked does not add much excitement to the witch horror genre. And, there have been a few witch stories to set the pace in this genre. The Craft (1996) was a film that brought teen angst to the screen. This film had a compelling edge, with compelling performances. The Blair Witch Project (1999) was another film that stands out in this sub-genre. Directors Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez's film was successful for not showing much of the horror onscreen.

It's good to see witches being wicked again in the movies. Let's face it, if people made movies about how practicing witches actually are we'd be pretty bored by their peaceful and earthy ways. That being said, let this new trailer for The Wicked take you to the dark land of make believe.

Tonight (Friday, Oct. 19), Season 2 of Starz' political drama "Boss" comes to a close. While the network has yet to announce a renewal, star Jeff Hephner is starting to think about possibilities for next season.
He plays Ben Zajac, the Illinois State Treasurer, who, as of last week's episode, seemed a shoe-in to win his gubernatorial bid, but at the cost of finding himself in the pocket of powerful Chicago Mayor Tom Kane (Kelsey Grammer).
At the same time, a sex scandal during the campaign has seemingly torpedoed his marriage to his ambitious wife Maggie (Nicole Forester), mother to their two sons.
So, while Zajac may gain the statehouse but he's already been thrown out of his own house. He has even contemplated returning to church to try to straighten his life out and repair his relationship with his wife.
Hephner, a Roman Catholic husband and father of three, finds the idea intriguing.

On Friday, Aug. 17, under the sign of Leo the lion, the king of beasts, Starz launches Season 2 of its original drama "Boss," starring Kelsey Grammer as Chicago Mayor Tom Kane, who is battling a degenerative neurological disorder.
"Our backdrop is politics, certainly," Grammer tells Zap2it. "But it's a human story about a king who has to lose his kingdom, how he deals with that, how he deals with his sudden humanity, is really what the story is. It's about human behavior rather than about political upheaval or change."
As to whether all politics really is just about human nature, Grammer chuckles and says, "Maybe the worst of human behavior, sure."
Chicago has long been known for its colorful crime figures and even more colorful politicians, who have reigned over a city government famed for graft, corruption and backroom dealing on an epic scale.
How much of that is fact...

Chicago – The Golden Globe Award-winning “Boss” returns tonight for a second season of riveting drama based on our favorite city’s foundation of dirty politics. I thought the first season was strong but drifted a bit at times, lacking the focus of truly great drama. The good news is that the focus is here in the second season, one that feels even more like Shakespearian drama but that justifies its self-seriousness more than in season one with fascinating characters.
Television Rating: 4.0/5.0
Season one of “Boss” ended with a flurry of activity as Ezra Stone (Martin Donovan) was revealed to be a traitor and was handled the way Chicago’s mob-like power structure handles these kind of things and Kitty (Kathleen Robertson) was thrown under a political bus with Zajac (Jeff Hephner). The depths of First Lady Meredith Kane’s (Connie Nielsen) political wheelings and dealings were revealed and Mayor Kane...

When it comes to witches, it's really hard to not picture the classic get-up used in The Wizard of Oz. The pointy hat ... the green skin ... it's just classic stuff, man. However, truly evil witches aren't played for camp value. In fact, they can be downright frightening.

Synopsis
"Season of the Equinox, the witch besets her kill. One less soul in the town to know, taken against their will." It is a bedtime story nearly every kid in the small town of Summerset has heard. A silly story passed down from generation to generation that offers just enough chills to keep the legend alive. This year is different. Seven-year-old Amanda Drake is swiped from her bedroom window.
