A 22-year-old Austin man visiting Greece was beaten to death last week after a violent attack at a bar and surveillance video of his brutal beating has recently emerged.
The video was shown during a bail hearing Wednesday for five men who have been charged with the murder of Bakari Henderson, a recent graduate of the University of Arizona, the Austin Statesman reports.
The video showed Henderson fleeing from a mob of at least 10 men outside of a bar in Laganas on the Greek island of Zakynthos before being body slammed by one man. Others soon joined in the assault.

When I first saw the cover of Batman/Superman Issue #1, I was instantly excited to read it and take in as much of Jae Lee's fabulous art as I could. Unlike the art, the direction the story took disappointed me. Batman/Superman Volume 1: Cross World leaves me with mixed feelings.
A goddess from Apokolips transports the Superman and Batman of our world to Earth 2. It's a world where the familiar becomes unfamiliar and the origins of our heroes aren't what we've come to know as canon. It's a world where the Dark Knight and Man of Steel must join forces with their doppelgangers to defeat a universal enemy and find their way back to the reality they're from.
I give Greg Pak praise for taking a storyline that could've sunk very quickly into tedium and breathing new life into it. It's still irritating that a re-launch of...

Well after only four issues here we are at the end of the first arc of what is essentially the New 52′s version of the World’s Finest.
Some may indeed argue why it wasn’t called the World’s Finest anyway, but they would be missing a key premise of this series. Our main protagonists are young and relatively inexperienced, and though we may think they are at their finest at this point in their respective careers the world either fears or shuns them.
So with that pondering aside let’s crack on with the review. Jae Lee’s artwork is, as it has consistently been, outstanding. Many have argued that it is completely unsuited for a title such as this. I would strongly disagree. Though at times it can be difficult to differentiate between the multiple Bat and Supermen, particularly in this issue when several panels contain the...

"Back when we introduced this “What’s New In The New 52” column, I told you that the most important word in The New 52 is “New.” We’re always striving to keep things exciting, different and surprising. Which is why Justice League #23.2: Lobo (from the creative team of Marguerite Bennett, Ben Oliver, Cliff Richards and Daniel Brown) contains a major surprise – one we’ve had planned for a while. The Lobo you’ve seen so far in the New 52 is not who you think he is. In this one-shot, you’ll be introduced to the real Lobo. A ruthless killer, Lobo is on a quest to kill the man who has taken his name. This Lobo is equal parts strong, vicious, and driven. There’s a darker and more logical idea about what a force of nature like him is capable of. After all, this is someone who can infiltrate high society,...

An Ohio mother and her child were mercilessly beaten and threatened with pitbulls and snakes as they were held hostage for two years in what is being called “modern day slavery.” The innocent victims were finally freed, and four suspects have been charged in the gruesome case.
An Ohio woman, identified only as “S.E.,” that has been held captive with her child in an Ashland, Ohio, apartment have finally been freed, but that doesn’t make what they had to go through any easier to bear. Federal authorities announced June 18 that three suspects have been charged for the kidnapping.

Jordie Callahan, 26, Jessica Hunt, 31, and Daniel Brown, 33, have been charged with forced labor, with Jordie also receiving a charge for witness tampering, CNN is reporting. The fourth suspect has yet to be named.

With one booze-soaked franchise coming to an end (Warner Bros. is wrangling to get the The Wolfpack back for "The Hangover 3"), it seems the hit R-rated hijinx of "Project X" has the studio excited that they may be able to keep the good times flowing.
THR reports that "Project X" co-writer Michael Bacall is already at work on a treatment for a potential sequel. It's early days, and there's no word yet if the largely unknown cast will make a return, or if they're even optioned (probably so), but it's clear WB is very happy with the $21 million opening for the low budget movie. Of course, who knows where the story will go next, but for those who were paying attention to the debauchery on screen, they'll remember that **Spoiler** the drug dealer who torched the neighborhood after the trio stole his garden gnome filled with Ecstasy is still alive...

Project X is not an off-shoot of the TV talent competition or a remake of the Matthew Broderick chimp thriller, but the latest in what seems to be an endless entry in the found footage / hand-held video genre, a film subset ( or conceit ) that is quickly wearing out its welcome at the multiplex. I suppose it really exploded with the box office smash over ten years ago with The Blair Witch Project and continues today with the horror series Paranormal Activity. Just weeks ago the format was used in the super-powered fantasy Chronicle. Now the shakey-cam is utilized for this new ” party ” comedy ( not the first found comedy - The Virginity Hit was a 2010 dud ). Will X fire up lots of big screen yucks or go down like warm stale beer?
The plot ( to be it loosely ) centers around the 24 hours of the eighteenth birthday of Thomas played by Thomas Mann...

Continuing our pioneering look at movies from reality’s underside, Hug once again connects to her sister site in a parallel universe to bring you the kind of lowdown that would never make it to a hard copy publication on quality control grounds.
It’s a place where Western Culture has evolved to allow women to walk around bare breasted, where each and every human impulse is catered for in safe booths; there are ones for masturbation, suicide and the consumption of Dan Brown’s novels and in which film history reads differently. To our eyes it would look like the inane etchings of a bored and socially dysfunctional film journalist. You’re invented to be more thorough in your analysis.
In our reality the Star Wars series was dealt a fatal blow by its own creator with the interminable photo-chemical faecal matter known to some as The Phantom Menace...
