Joe Finan(1927-2006)

Finan was born in 1927 in Butler, Pennsylvania, attending Carnegie Tech
in Pittsburgh. He then became a disc jockey on KYW radio in Cleveland,
Ohio, also doing weather and sports.
He was fired for his part in the 1960 payola scandal but caught on with KTLN in Denver, Colorado. In 1963 he became one of the first talk radio personalities for the renamed K-Talk station. He was also the first radio announcer for the Denver Broncos in 1960.
He returned to the Cleveland/Akron area in the 1980s radio until his retirement.
He died on December 19, 2006 due to complications from surgery in Cleveland.
