Studiocanal has sold a raft of global territories on four-part thriller drama series “Ridley Road.” Created by Studiocanal’s Red Production Company, commissioned for BBC One and co-produced with Masterpiece, the series will air in the U.S. on PBS Masterpiece, in France on Canal Plus, and has also been acquired by Now Studio Hong Kong, ABC Australia, Nova Greece, Yle Finland, Svt Sweden, Nrk Norway, Dr Denmark, Rte Ireland, Hot Israel, Canal Plus Poland and Disney Plus Benelux. A sale to Mola Indonesia was agreed earlier this year.
Based on Jo Bloom’s book, the series follows a young Jewish woman who falls in love with a member of the ’62 Group. She rejects her comfortable middle-class life in Manchester and joins the fights against fascism in London, risking everything for her beliefs for the man she loves.

The BBC has unveiled the first trailer for its reboot of H.G. Wells’ classic War of the Worlds starring The Big Short’s Rafe Spall and Poldark’s Eleanor Tomlinson.
The pair star in the BBC One series, which is produced by ITV-owned Mammoth Screen, alongside Trainspotting’s Robert Carlyle and Sherlock’s Rupert Graves.
The series, which filmed in Liverpol, was adapted by Wallander’s Peter Harness and directed by Craig Viveiros (And Then There Were None). It airs later this autumn.

"You better be ready to bloody run." Goldfinch Studios has released a new UK trailer for an indie comedy titled Dusty & Me, a feel-good family film about a boy and his dog. The film was once titled Against the Odds as well as Slapper and Me, but is now being released as Dusty and Me. The plot is about an 18-year-old misfit who befriends a lightning fast Greyhound, comically named Slapper by his older brother. The dog is dognapped by thieves, so Dusty and his love-interest go on a mission to find and rescue Slapper. Dusty & Me stars Genevieve Gaunt, Luke Newberry, Iain Glen, Ian Hart, and Lesley Sharp. This definitely looks as bad as it sounds, but I have a soft spot for dogs and dog movies, so I'm posting this anyway. Enjoy.
