His radio career spanned 35+ years and had included both duties as host and program director at WIQQ in Philadelphia and KBTS in Austin, as well as stints at Z-93 in Atlanta and KRBE in Houston.
Resides in New York City with his husband, Alex Carr, who currently works as a zookeeper at the Staten Island Zoo. Also maintains homes in New Jersey and New Mexico. Duran was grand marshal of the Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade (2016).
He was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Radio at 1717 Vine Street in Hollywood, California on March 2, 2017.
