Former President Donald Trump appeared to be opening the door again to a debate with Vice President Kamala Harris that is not sponsored by Fox News.
Over the weekend, Trump floated a Sept. 4 debate on Fox News, and claimed that a previously scheduled Sept. 10 ABC News event had been “terminated.” He also wrote that he will “see her on September 4th, or I won’t see her at all.”
That was interpreted as Trump backing out of the ABC News event, as Harris’ campaign claimed that he was “running scared” and “running straight to Fox News to bail him out.”
On Fox and Friends this morning, Trump suggested that something was in the works, albeit he hinted that it would not be on the network.
“We’ll be debating her in the pretty near future. It’s going to be announced fairly soon,” Trump said. “I would like to see it on Fox,...

Donald Trump‘s national security adviser, John Bolton, said that the former president wants Americans to treat him like North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.
Bolton shared in the X post a 2018 video of Trump talking to the Fox News host Steve Doocy days after his Singapore summit meeting with Kim.
“Are we close to seeing Mr. Kim here at the White House,” Doocy asked in the recording.
“It could happen,” Trump replied.
Trump then went on to compliment the North Korean supreme leader.
“He’s the head of a country,” Trump stated in the clip. “And I mean, he is the strong head. Don’t let anyone think anything different.
“He speaks, and his people sit up at attention,” he claimed. “I want my people to do the same.”

The big bipartisan border reform deal is all but dead, thanks to Maga Republicans obeying Donald Trump’s wishes to kill it. The legislation delivered many of the immigration measures conservatives have long wanted, but the former president and his allies in Congress worry progress on the issue would make Joe Biden look good ahead of the presidential election. Therefore, addressing what Republicans say is the most pressing crisis facing America today is going to have to wait until a later date when the party feels it’s more politically expedient.

Donald Trump is scheduled to appear on Fox News Wednesday night for a town hall discussion ahead of next week’s Iowa caucuses. He began his morning by bashing the network that serves as his primary propaganda arm in the media.
“So funny to watch Steve Doocy of Fox & Friends desperately trying to save Ron DeSanctimonious, a sinking ship. Whatever happened to that guy??? Also, the CNN Poll used by Fox, even though I’m winning big, is a Fake outlier,” he wrote early Wednesday morning on Truth Social.

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade was caught on a hot mic calling a congressman a “dumbass” for voting for Kevin McCarthy during Tuesday’s Speaker vote, and Seth Meyers got a pretty big kick out of that on Wednesday night, pointing out some irony.
As part of his “Closer Look” segment, Meyers once again roasted Republicans for not being able to decide on a House Speaker, calling up footage of GOP politicians publicly shaming their own party. But then, he pulled up a clip of Kilmeade — or rather, Kilmeade’s voice — shaming Rep. Don Bacon specifically.
The footage is of the live vote in the House but, as Bacon is called on to give his vote, Kilmeade is clearly heard saying “dumbass” after the congressman doesn’t say Jim Jordan’s name.
“Do you know how bad things are for you when Brian Kilmeade is calling you a dumbass?” Meyers mocked with a laugh.

Fox News agreed to pay Dominion Voting Systems $787.5 million in a last-minute settlement on Tuesday that spared the network the humiliation of a publicized defamation trial. If you get your news coverage from Fox’s prime-time stars, however, you’d have no idea it happened.
The outcome of the lawsuit was not mentioned once between the hours of 7 and 11 p.m. on Tuesday night — a block of time that includes network headliners Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, and Sean Hannity, all figures who were implicated in Dominion’s case against Fox.

Saturday Night Live this weekend began with a parody of the morning news show Fox & Friends as a cold open. The sketch featured Heidi Gardner as Ainsley Earhardt, Mikey Day as Steve Doocy and Bowen Yang as Brian Kilmeade.
The hosts had a laugh about the $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox News by Dominion Voting Systems over the television network’s unsubstantiated claims of election fraud.
Dominion has submitted numerous texts and emails between Fox News hosts that criticize their own reporting as evidence. The channel has claimed that these conversations were taken out of context.
They also addressed media mogul and Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch, who admitted that the channel promoted election fraud conspiracies that they were aware were false for higher ratings.
They then talked with MyPillow guy Mike Lindell (James Austin Johnson), who is one of the network’s major sponsors and a known conspiracy theorist about the 2020 election.

The Saturday Night Live cold open featured a Fox & Friends segment where the hosts of the Fox News morning show get Rupert Murdoch, chairman of Fox Corp. who’s currently in a legal battle, and Alex Murdaugh, a man convicted of murdering his wife and son, mixed up.

“Saturday Night Live” focused on Dominion Voting Systems’ ongoing defamation lawsuit against Fox News for the cold open this week, and unfortunately, the fake “Fox & Friends” hosts couldn’t keep their lawsuit details straight. As a result, Heidi Gardner’s Ainsley Earhardt mistook Fox CEO Rupert Murdoch for convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh.
To kick off the episode, Mikey Day, Gardner and Bowen Yang returned as Fox News hosts Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade, respectively, first complaining about being in New York, a Democrat-run city. But things quickly turned to the ongoing suit against the network, with the hosts acknowledging recent testimony from Fox CEO Rupert Murdoch, admitting that some Fox News hosts knowingly touted election lies on-air.

As Rupert Murdoch-owned outlets noticeably pinned the blame for the Republicans’ midterm losses on Donald Trump, Saturday Night Live spoofed Fox & Friends as its tried to break the news to the former Celebrity Apprentice host that he was no longer their favorite guest.
“Mr. President. I don’t know how to tell you this. But we have moved on. We can’t have you on the show anymore,” Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt (played by Heidi Gardner) told Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson) in the aftermath of the Republicans dashed hopes of a red wave.
“What? What did I do?” Trump asked them. “Was it the insurrection?”
He then goes through a series of moments of the past seven years that had many in the media predicting his demise — the impeachment, “blackmailing Ukraine,” Charlottesville, an unbuilt wall — only to see him in the GOP’s continued embrace, and with it Murdoch’s empire.

Wallace interviews actors Taraji P. Henson and Rosie Perez, as well as Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn, about mental health and how to make it more a part of the national conversation. Viewers of the Peacock series, executive produced by Patrick Burkey, will also see Wallace interview a doctor who has pioneered a novel approach to mental health care inside and outside the classroom

Jeanine Pirro has emerged as a key figure in Dominion Voting System 1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News for the network’s baseless claims of fraud in the 2020 presidential election, according to court documents obtained by NPR.
The voting tech company argues that by questioning Pirro, it could reach the legal requirement in proving that Fox News showed “actual malice” when it repeatedly broadcast and amplified rumors and lies made by Donald Trump, other right-wing personalities and far-right QAnon conspiracy theorists that Dominion tried to throw the presidential race to Joe Biden.
“Discovery has revealed that…Fox News host Jeanine Pirro help[ed] spread the verifiably false yet devastating lies against Dominion,” according to documents filed Thursday in a Delaware court by Dominion lawyers. Pirro, however, has not been named as a defendant in the suit against Fox Corp.

“Accused” is a collection of 15 stories about crime and punishment. The series is described by the network as a “fast-paced provocative thriller, exploring a different crime, in a different city, with an entirely original cast” in each episode.
Martindale and Parker will star in an episode tackling conspiracy theories while Bilson and Davenport will appear in an episode about a family caught in a troubling situation. Reid Miller and August Maturo also star alongside Bilson and Davenport.

The Republican spin machine seems to have encountered a jam.
Following the release late Tuesday night of a 54-page document outlining the Justice Department’s findings in the Aug. 8 raid on Donald Trump’s Palm Beach residence, the former president and his supporters are struggling to make their stories make sense.
The court filing was a response to Trump’s attempt to claim that the more than 100 classified documents seized during the raid were subject to executive privilege, and thus could not be reviewed by the DOJ. The filing included...

Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson and Lou Dobbs are among the current and former Fox News personalities facing depositions in Dominion Voting Systems’ 1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against the network.
With a trial on the docket for next April, both sides in the case have been in the midst of discovery, with Jeanine Pirro and Steve Doocy also among the Fox News figures on Dominion’s list for depositions.
Hannity is set to be deposed on Wednesday, according to The New York Times, which first reported on the court filing. Carlson is scheduled for Friday and Dobbs on Tuesday, according to court records. Dobbs show was canceled in February, 2021, and he was named with Fox News among the defendants in a separate defamation lawsuit filed by another election company, Smartmatic.

As expected, the hosts of Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” were none too pleased with Joe Biden’s student loan debt relief plan that was announced on Wednesday. According to the hosts, it’s just a means for the president to buy votes, and it flies in the face of personal financial choices.
Though some details on qualifying for Biden’s plan remain unclear, the core of the plan is this: the federal government will forgive up to 20,000 of student loan debt for Pell Grant recipients, and up to 10,000 for others who qualify but didn’t receive those grants, for borrowers making under 125,000 a year. In response, many conservatives and Republicans have been outraged, calling it socialism, and a “slap in the face” to people who already paid off their student loans.

Fox Nation will premiere The Shell Collector on Sept. 1, a debut that the Fox News Media subscription streaming service says will be its first in-house movie production.
The movie is based on Nancy Naigle’s book, and stars Caitlin Clark, Christopher Russell, and Jennifer Higgin. According to Fox Nation the production is “a heartwarming story about a widow, Amanda Whittier, with two children who befriends some interesting characters in her small seaside town as she looks to forge ahead with her new life following the death of her husband.”
Fox Nation, which launched in 2018, includes original programming from opinion hosts such Tucker Carlson, but it’s placed a heavy emphasis on expanding entertainment, reality and lifestyle shows, including a recent series hosted by Kelsey Grammer.

In a rare moment of sanity on Fox News Thursday morning, Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy repeatedly pressed Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) about Republicans’ attempts to concoct a baseless narrative around the FBI’s raid of former President Donald Trump’s Florida home earlier this week.
Conservatives have responded to the raid largely by bashing the FBI. Fox News hosts, GOP members of Congress, Trump’s lawyers, and Trump himself have suggested that the FBI planted evidence, while a bevy of politicians have called for the agency to be defunded or even “destroyed.

Former President Donald Trump took to his now-preferred social media platform, TruthSocial, Monday morning to lambast “Fox & Friends” over what he perceived to be a misrepresentation of poll numbers.
Trump accused the three-hour news show – hosted by Steve Doocy, Brian Kilmeade and Ainsley Earhardt – of “botching” his poll numbers “no doubt on purpose” as they discussed the Turning Point USA conference. A poll conducted at the Republican-led conference showed 79 support of Trump in the crowd, which wasn’t quite to the former president’s liking. Building off the claim that the numbers were botched, Trump didn’t pull any punches when it came to his overall feelings about the morning news show, which he called “terrible.”

Kimmel Predicts Trump’s Truth Social App Will Become ‘Social Media Equivalent of RadioShack’ (Video)
While former President Donald Trump’s Truth Social has had some improved success of late, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host Jimmy Kimmel predicted things aren’t going to end well for the new social media service.
“Now that Elon Musk is buying Twitter, Trump finds himself in a very Trumpy situation because he raised more than a billion dollars to start this promising new right-wing media platform that looks exactly like Twitter,” Kimmel said during his Tuesday night monologue. “But now that he probably won’t be banned from Twitter anymore because Elon owns it, he’s kind of stuck.”
Kimmel went on to call Truth Social “a disaster” (a word often employed by the former president), and noted Trump “hasn’t even posted on it for 11 weeks.”

This week’s Saturday Night Live cold open didn’t kick off with a parody surrounding the Oscars slap, however, it did get a mention. If you were expecting to hear a lot about Will Smith’s slap of Chris Rock at the Oscars on March 27, tonight’s Saturday Night Live cold open didn’t have a lot to offer.
Sure, James Austin Johnson ‘s Donald Trump showed up towards the end to declare that “I saw slap, I enjoyed slap, I was very impressed with my Hitch.” Swirling around a few references to past flicks by the King Richard star, Johnson’s Trump went on to say “quite an arm on Hitch, I always knew Hitch had an arm.”
“Back in Pursuit of Happyness, he’s slugging the machine on and off the subway,” this season’s Trump rambled. “I thought it was great. You know, they slept in the bathroom in that movie. It’s so sad. it’s a sad night for Hitch too.”

If you were expecting this week’s “Saturday Night Live” to kick off with a sketch parodying the Will Smith/Chris Rock slap at the Oscars, you may have been disappointed by the cold open. (That came later.) The slap was indeed mentioned, but it was just one of several topics brought up as the show once again turned to a Fox News parody to lead the episode.
(Chris Redd played Smith in a sketch later, with host Jerrod Carmichael playing a seat filler sitting next to the star during the moment of the slap.)
This week, it was another go at “Fox and Friends,” featuring hosts Steve Doocy (played by Alex Moffat), Ainsley Earhardt (Heidi Gardner) and Brian Kilmeade (Mikey Day). The hosts welcomed Clarence Thomas (Kenan Thompson) and wife Ginni Thomas (Kate McKinnon) — whose support of the January 6 attempted coup has become a lightning rod for scandal.

Fox News’ drive to cast President Biden as a job-killing socialist took a hit on Friday when the January jobs report revealed the economy has added 467,000 jobs since the start of the year, despite Covid-19 cases spiking as the Omicron variant continues to spread.
“We created 467,000 jobs in January,” Biden tweeted. “That’s more than 6.6 million jobs since I took office. 2021 was the greatest year of job creation under any president in history.”
The numbers were surprising, as economists forecasted growth to dip from the 199,000 jobs created in December to around 150,000 for January.

January ratings are in and, per Nielsen Media Research data, Fox News just set a big record: The network officially capped off 20 straight years as the top-rated cable news channel.
Notably, “The Five” continued its ratings success, ending the month as the most-viewed show in cable news, which is a unique feat for a non-primetime program. Tucker Carlson’s 8 p.m. Et juggernaut led the way in the advertiser-coveted age demographic of 25 to 54.
Fox News ended January as the top cable news channel in both total day viewers and primetime viewers. It has been the most-watched cable news network by both metrics since 2002. “Fox & Friends” host Steve Doocy told TheWrap in October of last year that when he started with the network at its inception 25 years ago, “it didn’t look good” and the team thought “market leader” CNN was tough competition. A man has been arrested and charged with arson for allegedly burning a 50-foot tall Christmas tree outside the Fox News headquarters in New York City.
According to a New York Police Department spokesperson, a 49-year-old homeless man named Craig Tamanaha was charged Wednesday morning at 12:23 a.m. for arson, criminal trespassing, criminal tampering, criminal mischief, endangering others, disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment. At 12:14 a.m., he was spotted by Fox News Channel security guards climbing the Christmas tree outside their office on the corner of West 48th Street and Sixth Avenue in Midtown.
Fdny firefighters put out the blaze within the tree without further injury or incident. Upon arrest, police officers found a lighter on Tamanaha, but it’s unclear if any accelerant was used. There were no injuries during the incident, and the NYC Fire Marshall is working to determine a cause of the fire as the investigation is ongoing.

Media Matters for America, a watchdog group that focuses on right-wing media, released findings Friday that said 60% of Fox News’ summer programming undermined Covid-19 vaccines. In total, Fox News talent and guests made 840 claims undermining or downplaying the immunization effort, the report said.
The organization has been analyzing Fox News’ vaccine coverage for months. A previous report showed that 57% of segments from June 28 to July 11 downplayed or undermined the vaccine, so anti-vaccine content has increased in recent weeks.
This coincides with increased calls from some Fox News personalities, like Steve Doocy and Sean Hannity, for viewers to get vaccinated. Those calls were reported widely as an about-face for Fox News, but the Media Matters study contradicts that narrative.
