She and her husband had 8 children: Gaston in 1820, Renaud in 1821,
Anatole in 1823, Edgar in 1825, Nathalie in 1827, twins Sabine and
Henriette in 1829, and Olga in 1835. They had 20 grandchildren.
Children are one of the main themes of her novels.
