- Commissioned composer Francis Poulenc to write Aubade (1929), a "choreographic concerto" for piano and 18 instruments.
- Because of his producing L'Âge d'or, he was going to be banned from Paris' Jockey Club and he resigned before. His mother went to the Vatican to plead for him and he was not excommunicated. That episode is in a scene of Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles (2018).
- Grandson of poet Anna de Noailles, he and his wife were important philanthropist for arts and culture in Paris and in the South of France. They had built in Hyères a modernist villa.
