- Stefan Lambov Danailov (born December 9, 1942) is a Bulgarian actor and former Minister of Culture of Bulgaria (August 2005 - July 2009). The first film Danailov took part in was The Traces Remain (1956) when he was a child. At that time, he did not want to be an actor but he graduated in Acting from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in 1966 and joined the company of the Drama Theatre in Plovdiv. His first roles in film were in Monday Morning (1966), The Sea (1967) and Taste of Almonds (1967). He gained popularity with the role of Major Deyanov in the famous TV series At Each Kilometre (1969). He has participated in numerous films and plays for which he won many prizes. For a while he took a break from theatre, but in 1973 he joined the company of the Bulgarian Army Theatre in Sofia, and in 1979 became part of the company of the National Theatre in the capital city. He has acted in more than 80 films and has won distinctions at various national theatre and film festivals. In 1988 he started teaching Acting at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts and in 1999 he became a Professor. - Unlike many fellow Bulgarian actors, Stefan Danailov never changed his political affiliation. He remained an active member of the Bulgarian Socialist Party until the end of his life.
- Although in frail health, in 2019 he performed several times on stage in Peter Quilter's The Actress. His very last performance was in Varna on 9 September 2019. After the performance he received a standing ovation from the audience.
- On 27 October 2022, the Municipal Council of the Bulgarian Capital, Sofia, took a decision to name a Garden in the Lozenets Quarter after him, "Prof. Stefan Danailov". The proposal for this decision came from an Initiative Committee, consisting of 70 colleagues and students of Stefan Danailov and was approved unanimously.
