Based on a concept by Michael Kraetzer, Nightmare Radio: The Night Stalker is an anthology feature assembled from short films released as early as 2011. The wraparound segments come from director Charly Goitia, as late-night radio DJ Candy (Paula Brasca) asks listeners to call in and share their real-life horror stories. In between the wild experiences recounted on-air, an obsessed fan takes great lengths to make sure Candy hears his voice – even if it sounds like someone trying to mimic Roger L. Jackson’s Ghostface voice.
Playtime opens the film in the middle of the night, punctuated by a television turning on and awakening a sleeping woman. As she ventures downstairs to investigate, a spectre dressed as a bride appears before piling on the spooky occurrences.

As usual, Shudder has several great exclusive titles headed to their platform in the coming week (this writer is personally thrilled to see The Strings finally getting a release after falling in love with it during the 2020 festival season), and there are also a few films that you can finally catch up on if you missed them in theaters earlier this year. Plus, there are tons of previously unreleased genre goodness to enjoy, too.
Be sure to check out our list of all the new horror and sci-fi headed to various digital platforms and...

"You're carrying the most dangerous virus - the truth." An official trailer has debuted for another set of horror films made during the pandemic - this one is called Isolation. "Nine tales of terror weave together the story of isolated citizens around the world as they confront their darkest fears in an attempt to survive an increasingly deadly outbreak." We've already seen plenty of horror directors making films at home with whatever they had during lockdown, and this has a similar premise. Producer / filmmaker Nathan Crooker gathered a big batch of filmmakers for this: Larry Fessenden, Andrew Kasch, Dennie Gordon, Bobby Roe, Alix Austin & Keir Siewert, Christian Pasquariello, Alexandra Neary, Zach Passero, Adam Brown & Kyle I. Kelley. "They were not allowed to use Zoom or any other video conferencing services and were only allowed to use the equipment and resources they had with them when they entered into lockdown, including cast and crew,...

Gravitas Ventures and Kamikaze Dogfight have acquired the U.S. and Canadian rights for Nathan Crooker’s film “Isolation.”
The feature-length anthology connects nine stories of people from all over the world confronting their darkest fears during the pandemic. Crooker, who produces the film, tasked 11 filmmakers with creating their stories using only the production equipment and resources they had with them when they entered quarantine. They were also barred from using Zoom or other video conferencing services. “Isolation” premiered at FrightFest UK 2021 and will have its North American premiere on Oct. 15th at Screamfest LA, followed by a release on VOD platforms on Nov. 2.
Directors on the project include acclaimed horror directors such as Dennie Gordon, Larry Fessenden, Bobby Roe, Andrew Kasch, Zach Passero and Christian Pasquariello, as well as newer voices like Alexandra Near; Alix Austin and Keir Siewert; and Kyle I. Kelley and Adam Brown.

“Isolation,” a horror anthology film, has finished its principal photography shooting entirely in quarantine.
The film weaves together nine standalone, yet interconnected, horror stories from all corners of the world. It follows people as they confront their biggest fears in attempts to survive an increasingly deadly pandemic, a premise that hits close to home for many people during the coronavirus crisis.
The teams of filmmakers on the project include Dennie Gordon; Larry Fessenden; Bobby Roe (“The Houses October Built”); Andrew Kasch (“Tales Of Halloween”); Zach Passero (“Wicked Lake”) and Christian Pasquariello (“Alien Invasion: S.U.M. 1”). The anthology will also showcase new voices in horror with films by Alexandra Neary (“The Innocent”), Alix Austin and Keir Siewert (“Retch”), and Kyle I. Kelley and Adam Brown (“The Music Lesson”).
For “Isolation,” producer Nathan Crooker created a fictional world set many months in the future that is based around the coronavirus pandemic.

I’ve got a great award winning horror short film here for you to watch today called Midnight Delivery. The film was directed by Nathan Crooker, who previously made the short film Playback a few years ago. You can watch that here if you want.
The story for Midnight Delivery “begins when a mysterious gift is delivered to an unsuspecting woman’s door at the stroke of midnight. The woman’s morbid fascination entices her to examine the gift, unleashing a sinister evil from within.”
I really liked this short, it does a fantastic job of building up the tension and horror and it ends up delivering a fun and morbid payoff at the end.
Check out Midnight Delivery below and let us know what you think of it!

There’s a new short film that’s making waves because some writers who write about film, but don’t actually understand it, are claiming it’s one continuous shot. It’s not. Still, Nathan Crooker’s “Playback” is good enough that it deserves a play by horror fans. In fact, it’s pretty fuckin’ cool. The short asks, what happens when […]...

I’ve got a horror thriller short film for you to check out today called "Playback." It was created by Nathan Crooker, who says that it's a throwback to the classic films of director John Carpenter. The movie was shot in a single take, and the story shows us what happens when someone interferes with another person's fate. This thing has a pretty intense build-up. It's a fun and simplistic thriller that I hope you enjoy.

El Monstro Del Mar, the Australian underground monster movie directed by Stuart Simpson that’s been making waves on the festival circuit this year, has won the Best of Fest award at NYC’s Royal Flush Festival, which was held at the world-famous Knitting Factory on Oct. 11-18.
The film, which was recently reviewed on Bad Lit, is a modern-ized throwback to the classic grindhouse cinema of Russ Meyer and Roger Corman. Three female hired killers hide out in a sleepy seaside village, only to awaken a monstrous creature that rises from the ocean’s depths to feast on human blood.
The Royal Flush Festival is a nine-day music and film event held in Brooklyn at the Knitting Factory. The fest was originally conceived as the E. Vill City Film Festival in 2005, but joined forces with the magazine Royal Flush and rechristened itself just this year.
