- Ben Stiller's producing partner. Their company is called Red Hour Films and is currently (2003) based at DreamWorks Pictures.

- Was helping David Lynch attempt to gain financing for a script called Ronnie Rocket when Lynch decided he needed to work soon, whether it was his script or not. Lynch asked Cornfeld if he had any scripts that he could direct, and Cornfeld pitched The Elephant Man (1980). When Lynch expressed interest, he brought the project to Mel Brooks.
- While enrolled at AFI film school, a classmate in one of his classes was Anne Bancroft. She introduced him to Mel Brooks, thus beginning his producing career.
