There’s a lot to be said about 2016, including the fact that it brings not one, but two new Peter Berg movies, all within the last three months. While his first contribution, Deepwater Horizon, unfortunately (and rather undeservedly) didn’t make a huge impact, his next film, Patriots Day, promises something a little more rewarding. At least, if all the quotes thrown inside this new, final trailer are any indication of the final product.
Just like Lone Survivor and Deepwater Horizon, Patriots Day stars Mark Wahlberg and will dramatize a real-life tragedy, this time recreating the Boston Marathon bombing that occurred on April 15th, 2013, which resulted in the death of three citizens and an estimated 264 injured civilians. Berg’s acclaimed film focuses not only on the attack itself, but the four day manhunt that ensued afterwards. It’ll also follow how the people of Boston came together throughout this horrific incident.

For the third time in as many years, director Peter Berg and Mark Wahlberg will collaborate to present another true-life account of heroism, tragedy and the power of the human spirit. In 2013, it was Lone Survivor that brought both creatives together, and the pair have since reteamed for the white-knuckle ride known as Deepwater Horizon.
Touting an all-star ensemble and some truly edge-of-your-seat action sequences, Horizon was arguably better than it had any right to be, documenting the true tale of heroism buried beneath the messy Bp oil spill of 2010. Their latest project is called Patriots Day, one poised to shift the spotlight three years forward.
For on April 15, 2013, the city of Boston was rocked by a terrorist attack, one which resulted in the deaths of three civilians and hundreds of injuries to runners, bystanders and normal citizens going about their day. An attack on American soil was enough to...

It’s one of three separate features in the works based on the tragic events of the 2013 terrorist attack – rubbing shoulders with both Boston Strong and indie drama Altar Rock – but it is CBS Films and Lionsgate’s Patriots Day that will sprint into theaters first come December.
Aligning with the recent July 4 celebrations, the studios have now premiered the poignant first poster for Peter Berg’s all-star drama, showcasing a series of shoelaces woven into the style of the famous Stars and Stripes.
At the tip-top of the Berg’s cast list is Mark Wahlberg – reuniting with the director after Lone Survivor – who leads the charge against the suspected offenders as Sgt. Tommy Saunders, a decorated officer in blue described as a “composite Boston Police Department officer who leads the manhunt for the chief suspects.”

Patriots Day, CBS Films and Lionsgate’s real-life drama based on the marathon bombings that rocked the city of Boston three years ago, is already a crowded affair. But we now have word that the studios have recruited one final trio to feature in Peter Berg’s Oscar-tipped thriller.
It’s quite the threesome, too, headlined by Melissa Benoist of Supergirl fame – on board to portray Katherine Russell, wife to one of the two convicted terrorisits, Tamerlan Tsarnaev – Khandi Alexander and Jake Picking (The Way, Way Back). In terms of the latter duo, Alexander is playing a law enforcement interrogator, while Picking is attached to the role of MIT officer Sean Collier.
Remember we mentioned that ensemble cast? Reuniting with his Lone Survivor helmer – before the pair make it three-for-three with this year’s Deepwater Horizon – Mark Wahlberg leads the charge against the suspected offenders as Sgt. Tommy Saunders, a...

Now entering the final stages of pre-production, The Wrap is reporting that Peter Berg’s Boston marathon drama Patriots’ Day has carried out what is surely the last casting spree before filming gets underway, this time adding Michael Beach, Alex Wolff and Themo Melikidze to its jam-packed ensemble.
According to the outlet, it is the latter two actors that will be playing the role of the radicalized terrorists (Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev) who brought the city of Boston to a standstill in April of 2013. Beach, on the other hand – best known for his recurring role of Pike in The 100 – is on board to portray Deval Patrick, the “governor of Massachusetts when terrorists struck the annual event in 2013.”
Since Berg and his Lone Survivor cohort Mark Wahlberg hatched Patriots’ Day, there’s been a flurry of activity surrounding the project, which quickly found a home at CBS Films and Lionsgate.

NBC's new Wednesday night series Taxi Brooklyn has an unusual premise -- but sometimes that's what it takes to become a hit show these days. How's the series been doing in the ratings? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Taxi Brooklyn follows Cat Sullivan (Chyler Leigh), a tough NYPD Detective who doesn't let a demotion to foot patrol stop her from trying to find her father's killer. She finds an unlikely ally in Leo Romba (Jacky Ido), a taxi driver from Marseille. The rest of the cast includes James Colby, Jose Zuniga, Jennifer Esposito, Bill Heck, Ally Walker, and Raul Casso.
This police series got off to a lackluster start at the end of June with the first episode drawing just a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.34 million viewers. The ratings have gone up and...

NBC hasn't had much ratings success with licensed series like Crossing Lines and The Listener. Will Taxi Brooklyn be a different story? Will NBC want a second season or will they cancel this one too? Stay tuned!

Hollywoodnews.com: Lionsgate is filling its slate with a trio of titles that it will distribute in partnership with Im Global, and we are starting to get a few more details about each project, thanks to Variety.
Jason Statham will headline “Safe,” which is currently in production. Written and directed by Boaz Yakin, the film co-stars Danni Lang, James Colby and Tim Carr. There’s no release date right now.
Meanwhile, Simon West’s “Protection” will go into production in March, with a New Mexico shoot. Dwayne Johnson will star in the action thriller, which casts the former wrestler as a disgraced former American Special Forces operative who must rescue a judge’s kidnapped daughter from a Mexican cartel, according to IMDb.
But the most anticipated title in the bunch has to be “Dredd,” a retry of the graphic novel that once was adapted into a Stallone vehicle.

The FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit has always seemed like a family, making the departure of A.J. Cook from Criminal Minds even more controversial than a typical TV casting move.
Wednesday, the family bid farewell to agent Jennifer Jareau in the fittingly-titled "J.J." Like Cook's many fans, Hotch and the rest of the Bau didn't seem too happy about it, either.
After shining in last week's season premiere, Cook did so again last night in her swan song, an emotional sendoff that probably overshadowed what was a typically solid episode.
Hotch is not pleased about the Dod poaching Jj.
The team is called in when a girl, Kate Joyce, is reported missing on vacation in Atlantic Beach. Her friends say she never returned to her hotel after leaving the club with two guys.
Syd and Jim are suspected of harming Kim but aren't talking and it's been days. The clock's ticking before the two,...
