The album title is both a riff and a tribute to the 1931 Noël Coward (as Noël Coward) song of the same name. The riff is that song is not included as one of the tracks of the album. The album was certified Gold in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), with the UK peak ranking at #16 on the UK album chart. Vocalists on this album and the concurrent tour included Cocker, Don Preston, Leon Russell, Rita Coolidge, Donna Washburn, Claudia Lennear, Cordell, Daniel Moore, Pamela Polland, Matthew Moore, and Nicole Barclay, among others.
- (4/23/69) Album: "With a Little Help from My Friends". NOTE Produced by Denny Cordell, with title song written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, originally performed by The Beatles. The album was certified gold in the United States, peaking at #35 on the Billboard 200 Album chart. Cocker's version of the title song was admitted to the Grammy Awards Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
