A prolific German synchronising voice for foreign actors in both film and television.
A station square in Prien/Aschau in Chiemgau is named Hans-Clarin-Platz in his honour.
Studied acting in Munich, 1948-50. From 1952 to 1967, he belonged to the ensemble of the Bayerischen Staatsschauspiel.
In 1974, he fulfilled his dream of acquiring the 450 year old sprawling 'Moserhof' estate in Chiemgau, Upper Bavaria.
Was awarded the title of Bavarian State Actor in 1961. He also received the Federal Order of Merit in 1994 and the Bavarian Order of Merit in 1997.
