I suspect this film will never get made with this cast, but you might eventually see A Boy Named Sue on screens in some form. In a piece about Ryan Reynolds forming a TV production company with Allan Loeb, Deadline [1] reports on the film, written by Loeb, which has Ryan Reynolds attached to star as " a guy who disguises himself as a woman to win his ex-girlfriend back." So it is kind of Tootsie by way of Johnny Cash, with a little extra romantic comedy? Maybe? Despite the fact that Ryan Reynolds and Allan Loeb are developing this as part of a whole slate of stuff they've got cooking, I bet this gets made with someone else in the lead. After the break, two great character actors, Garret Dillahunt and Walton Goggins, get new gigs. You should revere the 'Random Roles [2]' column at the Onion Av Club if you don't already,...

William Petersen has always been a bit careful about choosing work, and now that he's gone from CSI, he's looking at features once more. He's in Tony Kaye's Detachment now, but that's his first feature since 2000. Now he is negotiating to join Seeking a Friend at the End of the World, which already had the odd pairing of Steve Carell and Keira Knightley. Along with him come Adam Brody and Rob Corddry. Lorene Scafaria (writer, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist) wrote and will direct; the story picks up when an asteroid threatens to end life on Earth. The main character is "a man whose wife leaves him amidst the ensuing panic, prompting him to seek out his high school sweetheart, who yearns to be with him when doomsday arrives. Knightley plays the female lead, a neighbor of Carell's character who accompanies him on a romantic road trip to find her.

New Moca director Jeffrey Deitch might have just accepted the art world's most controversial position, but if there's one thing everyone can agree he's great at, it's throwing a party. And now, he's got a bright, blank new L.A. canvas to work with. We asked artists, curators and critics to provide some guidance for Deitch's new gig.
Time to pitch a Moca reality show to one of the major networks now that you're in L.A. The concept is your life: "Ack! The economy's gone to shit so now I'm a newbie museum director." During this 13-episode series viewers will watch you navigate museum politics, get lost in L.A. and schmooze with celebrities and art glitterati. Show title: Sink or Swim! The prize: Glory--and the USA's best museum stays open.-Paddy Johnson, Art Fag City
Deitch should expand his plans with James Franco and General Hospital and embrace Los Angeles' soap opera scene.
