Carl Elias has always proven to be a most interesting person in fleeting doses, but this week he is in fact the Person of Interest, as the CBS drama uncorks its action-packed penultimate fall episode tonight at 10/9c.
Enrico Colantoni shared with TVLine his immense appreciation for the unique adversary, teased a shift in the Elias/Reese/Finch dynamic, chimed in on his TV doppelgänger and enthused about Veronica Mars‘ recent Dick moves.
Tvline | How did this week’s Person of Interest stand apart for you, out of the 16 or so that you’ve been in?

Poor Alice. Will her epic war with the undead and the corrupt Umbrella Corporation ever end?
We kind of hope not, 'cause that would mean no more "Resident Evil" movies. Alice (Milla Jovovich) returns in the fifth(!) chapter, "Resident Evil: Retribution," in theaters this Friday. Her journey has been long, hard and more complicated than you might imagine; as such, we thought a refresher course of sorts was in order before you check out her latest battle against the victims — and creators — of that damn T-virus.
So, join us through the many levels — er, installments — of the movie series based on Capcom's iconic survival horror video games.
'Resident Evil' (2002)
A bad day at the offices (or labs, rather) of The Hive, the top-secret underground genetic research headquarters of the über-conglomerate, the Umbrella Corporation, turns into Judgment Day for the rest of us as the deadly experimental T-virus is unleashed,...

Title: The Tortured Director: Robert Lieberman Starring: Erika Christensen, Jesse Metcalfe, Bill Moseley, Fulvio Cecere A stupendously inane and pointless slice of revenge-based horror whose title might as well describe the audience watching it, “The Tortured” chronicles the story of a young married couple’s capture and torment of the man convicted of kidnapping and murdering their five-year-old son. Told in hammy fashion and marked by a pair of hysterical, uneven lead performances, this inept genre entry is an embarrassment to almost all involved. A mass of expository set-up opens the movie, which centers around suburbanites Craig and Elise Landry (Jesse Metcalfe and Erika Christensen). Craig witnesses their son being snatched from their front yard, and [ Read More ]...

Grief can be an enormously difficult emotion to pull off on screen, mainly because we all deal with it in different ways and it's hard for most of us to imagine the tragedy that befalls Craig and Elise Landry, the couple at the center of Robert Lieberman's The Tortured.
The Landrys' son, Benjamin, is taken from them in broad daylight and murdered by a sadistic child molester and serial murderer. The killer is captured by the police, but cuts a deal. It's one thing to lose your child, but seeing that the man who took him away from you isn't getting nearly the punishment you think he deserves? That may give one…ideas. It certainly gives the Landrys ideas. As I said, we all deal with grief in different ways, and The Tortured...

Al Thompson has enjoyed a very good year. His digital production company ValDean Entertainment closed pickup deals with all of its active series—including two of them Lenox Avenue and Odessa scoring Bet Networks deals. Now fresh off winning the Syfy “Imagine Greater” honors at Nytvf last month for Odesssa, Thompson is heading to Los Angeles to premiere the drama at the NBCUniversal Short Cuts Film Festival next Wednesday the 26th. (Free tickets to the event are available below.) Cast includes Richard Herd (Star Trek Voyager), Fulvio Cecere (Battlestar Galactica), Skai Jackson (Disney’s Jessie), Clayne Crawford (A&E’s The Glades, Fox’s 24), James De Bello (Cabin Fever) and Al Thompson (The Royal Tenenbaums). Obsessed with revenge, the couple seizes an opportunity to kidnap the killer (poor old Moseley). Chelah Horsdal, Aaron Pearl, Fulvio Cecere, Viv Leacock, Sheila Shah, Yee Jee Tso and Samantha Gutstadt round off the cast. Resident Evil: Afterlife kicks off right where its predecessor Extinction faded away; Alice and her little army of clones hit the insidious and evil Umbrella Corporation hard in Tokyo. The Japanese based installation is overrun and destroyed, and all of the clones are destroyed along with it - a heavy (and slightly convenient) toll. Worse is that Alice drops her common sense in order to deliver a cheesy one-liner, which sets her up to get hypodermically pricked by trickster mastermind and incredibly snappy dresser Albert Wesker. Alice is injected with a compound that effectively strips her of her oh wow super T-Virus powers. It is back to guns for Alice.

The Tortured
Stars: Erika Christensen, Jesse Metcalfe, Bill Moseley, Fulvio Cecere | Written by Marek Posival | Directed by Robert Lieberman
Devastated by the kidnap and murder of their young son, Elise (Christensen) and her husband Craig (Metcalfe) are further distressed when the man accused of the crime is set free prematurely. Deciding the criminal justice system has failed them by not adequately punishing the monster responsible for all their pain, they seize on a chance to wreak the ultimate revenge by kidnapping the killer and holding him hostage in the basement of a remote country house, where they intend to inflict the same pain and torture upon him as the believe he inflicted upon their son. Elise and Craig are firm in their belief that this ‘eye for an eye’ vengeance is not only justified, but will also heal their own mental wounds. But how far they are prepared to go...

Keeping up with Milla Jovovich's Tweets from the Resident Evil: Afterlife is a full-time job, but at least it's doing what Sony wants and gives fans and bloggers plenty of material to talk and write about.
Here's a quick overview of the highlights from the weekend. Afterlife started Saturday with some complicated 2nd Unit work involving "alice clones".
right now though, because this sequence is so long and crazy, we r really doing 1st unit work. so paul is here to direct it
and i am here to do some insane stunts! the clones are running and shooting, then crashing thru a huge window
then falling 50 stories, shooting the baddies the whole way down! so rad!
This shot led to more explosions.
ust finished an incredible shot! real trailer moment! me running, semi's blazing, glass exploding in front of me, walls exploding behind me...a one take deal, very precise,...

Watchmen is a testament to cinematic bravura. It’s fearless filmmaking. It’s an audacious reminder of why it is Always better to aim high rather than set your sights on the middle. It’s a great film made from a great graphic novel by the great Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. Watchmen is why I love the movies.
When I trepidaciously went to see the film in March, I entered the theater beset with doubts as to how director Zack Snyder (300) could pull it off, but two hours and forty two minutes later I left the Manhattan multiplex in a state of cinematic satiety, my usual garrulous self rendered silent by ineffable joy. Ok, enough with the lovefest and lavish praise and big words. I’ve seen Watchmen three times: Once in its regular theatrical format, another time in IMAX and now on DVD in a 186-minute Director’s Cut.

If you click on over to Bdtv you'll find your very, very first look at Twisted Pictures' The Tortured, a new thriller under the helm of Rob Lieberman (who freaked me out with Fire in the Sky). In the film starring Erika Christensen, Bill Moseley, Jesse Metcalfe, Fulvio Cecere, Alfonso Quijada, Chelah Horsdal and Thomas Greenwood, a young professional couples perfect life is shattered when their young son is abducted by a murderer who slips through the judicial system, forcing them to create their own justice. The Tortured stars Erika Christensen who played Michael Douglas drug addicted daughter in the Oscar-winning film Traffic. Opposite Christensen, the lead actor role is played by Jesse Metcalfe, who is well known for his role in ABCs Desperate Housewives and his lead role in 20th Century Foxs John Tucker Must Die.
