- Margaret Carthew was born in Florida. She lived in Palm Beach and started her career as a dancer on the stage,when she was a teenager. In the early 1930's she went to Hollywood with her parents,where she found work as a dancer on stage and as a dance-instructor. She became a dancer in films,and worked in nearly all the Busby Berkeley-movies in the 1930's. In 1934 she received a longterm-contract by Warner Bros,but was only seen in bit and extra parts. She was in the news in 1935,when the famous actor George Brent said in a newspaper that he thought that Margaret Carthew was one of the most beautiful women in the world.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Norbert
