- Robert Capa was born on October 22, 1913 in Budapest, Austria-Hungary [now Hungary]. He was a cinematographer, known for Temptation (1946), Paris Cavalcade of Fashions (1948) and The 400 Million (1939). He died on May 25, 1954 in Thai Binh, Vietnam.
- Involved in love affair with Ingrid Bergman. The two met while Ingrid was overseas entertaining the troops during World War II. The romance was the basis for Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window.
