Get your fix of righteous indignation below, and stay posted for outrage updates throughout the week. The good news: Tilda Swinton is reportedly in talks to play a gender-bent Ancient One in Marvel's "Doctor Strange." The bad news: Tilda Swinton is reportedly in talks to play a whitewashed Ancient One in Marvel's "Doctor Strange." How are we supposed to feel about this? Pretty angry, according to a contingent of tweeters who are miffed that a character depicted in the comics as an elderly Tibetan man (birth name: Yao) has been reimagined for the upcoming McU entry as a willowy white goddess. Here's a sampling of the outrage: 'Tis strange to assume that changing the character's gender will be controversial but the whitewashing gets a pass. http://t.co/qNZ6cm1d3F — Jason Morehead...

After two wartime tours of Iraq, Alex Brown couldn’t shut off his alert switch. "My job as a gunner was to literally see everything," says the former Army specialist. "Not only my life, but my team’s life depended on it." Yet back home in Louisville, Ky., the constant tension honed in combat left him anxious and jumpy - and afraid to venture beyond secure walls. His relationships crumbled in the wake of his post-traumatic stress disorder. "I didn’t leave my room, much less the house," says Brown, 28. "It wasn't affecting just me, it was affecting those who love and care about me,...

I’ve often said that a great way to get to know a woman is to examine the contents of her handbag. In the same way, a great way to get to know a couple, is to look through their DVD collection.
My husband and I have many films that “mean something” to us – Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (discussed and recited at our first real meeting), numerous Hitchcock films (recognised as a shared passion on the night of our first kiss), Moulin Rouge (our first date film), The Indiana Jones films (we walked out of the church at our wedding to John Williams’ Raiders March), Zoolander (our baby daughter mastered Blue Steel at six weeks of age), and obviously there’s the vast array of films that we constantly quote in an attempt to survive the trials of life, Dodgeball (“Nose and lips!”), Anchorman (“You have man boobs”), Meet the Parents...

Justin Bieber has urged his fans not to send text messages while driving. The 'Never Say Never' popstar has filmed a PSA for the Remember Alex Brown Foundation, a group founded in honor of a teenage girl who was killed in 2009 as a result of texting while driving. Bieber asked fans who may be tempted to send text messages from behind the wheel to consider downloading PhoneGuard, an application that blocks texts from being received on smartphones when it detects a vehicle is in motion. Justin Bieber wants you to stay safe behind the wheel. Rule No. 1 is put down your phone. And if you can't, the Biebs will put it down for you. "There are too many lives lost to such a preventable issue like texting and driving," the pop star told E! News at a campaign for Drive Safe, a free app that locks a smartphone's keyboard when it's in a vehicle going more than 10 miles per hour. "This campaign isn't antitexting," Bieber assured us. "It's about texting responsibly." An important cause indeed, but what made the Twitter-loving teen get on board? Bieber was inspired by the Remember Alex Brown Foundation, named after a high school...

Justin Bieber likely spends way more time on private jets and international flights than behind the wheel of a car. But the teen pop sensation knows one thing about driving: You shouldn't text when you're behind the wheel. That's why Bieber, 17, has signed on to a campaign urging his fans to lay off the smartphone while they drive.
"We need to change the attitudes in our society toward texting and driving and I am making it one of my personal goals to make this happen," said Bieber in a statement released as part of his endorsement of PhoneGuard's Drive Safe software, which disables the texting, email and keyboard functions of mobile phones while a car is in motion. Starlet Emma Roberts ditched the awards show glam and joined Justin Bieber and Nascar stars Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle to appear on ABC Sunday's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" in honor of the Remember Alex Brown Foundation, a nonprofit organized after 17-year-old Alexandra Brown rolled her pickup truck and died on her way to school. She was texting and driving.
After being alerted that her daughter hadn't made it to school, Alex's mother Jeannie drove out to find the wreck of the truck. "Although no other vehicles were involved, Alex was not alone," she writes on the Foundation's official website. "The cell phone on which she had sent and receive over 10,000 text messages in the weeks preceding her accident was with her."

We all know the music business gets a lot of flack for being virtually decimated by the internet's rampant obsession with file sharing lately. Major music labels faced quite possibly the largest re-sizing of an industry in recent history at the hands of eager mouse clickers. But for smaller indie labels like La-based Dangerbird Records, with MySpace faves like Silversun Pickups, Sea Wolf, Division Day and The Dears on its roster, the internet is much more intrinsic to their businesses. Sea Wolf has released a web series dubbed White Water, White Bloom to promote the band's forthcoming album of the same name which drops September 22. 'Vol 1' (above), otherwise known as episode 1, flows like an arty doc piece, telling the story of lead signer Alex Brown Church and the origins of lead single "Wicked Blood."...
