- Ian Briggs studied drama at Manchester University and after that worked in the theatre on lighting and design, including on some jazz shows. Following that he worked at the BBC's Script Unit reading unsolicited scripts and also freelanced for the Royal Court and some film companies. He was commissioned by Andrew Cartmel first to write "Dragonfire" and then season twenty-six's "The Curse of Fenric." He was also commissioned by the BBC to write a pilot for a new series and has written some plays for the theatre as well as working on "Casualty."
