Kate Middleton is expected to attend the Wimbledon men’s final to present trophies as Prince William will fly to Berlin to watch England hopefully win their first major trophy since the 1966 World Cup.
The Trophy Will Be Presented To The Winner By Kate Middleton
Kate, who has been recovering from her cancer treatment, is an avid tennis fan and patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016.
Queen Elizabeth passed the baton to Kate eight years ago, and she’s presented trophies at Wimbledon every year since.
This occurrence is the first year she’s missed a significant portion of the tournament since marrying William, except for 2013, when she was weeks away from giving birth to Prince George.
The Princess of Wales will give the trophy to either Carlos Alcaraz, who represents Spain, or Novak Djokovic, who represents Serbia.

British royals Zara Tindall, 43, and her brother, Peter Phillips, 46, went to Wimbledon on the same day but didn’t sit together. The reason? Because there was something outside their roles as members of the British royal family reportedly in play. Ahead, why Zara and her husband, Mike Tindall, were nowhere near Phillips at the tennis tournament.
Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips’ day at Wimbledon
Phillips and Zara went to Wimbledon on July 10, 2024. It marked the siblings’ first joint appearance since their mother, Princess Anne, sustained a head injury following an incident believed to have involved a horse at her Gatcombe Park home on June 23, 2024.
However, the “joint” part ended there. The brother and sister, who are the oldest of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s grandchildren, didn’t sit together courtside. Instead, Zara and her husband, Mike, sat in one area while Phillips, who was joined by his new girlfriend,...

The royal family stepped out for the tenth day of Wimbledon, as Queen Camilla was seen with Kate Middleton’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton. She was also with Zara and Mike Tindall.
The Royal Family And A Vast Array Of Celebrities Enjoyed The Game
Queen Camilla was also joined by many celebrities, including Keira Knightly, David Suchet, Richard E Grant, Abba guitarist Bjorn Ulvaeus, and Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.
Other key high-profile tennis enthusiasts include The Archbishop of Canterbury, Fergal Sharkey, an environmental campaigner, and Mark Carney, the prior Governor of the Bank of England.
However, Kate is still a no-show. Queen Camilla was in good spirits as she watched the game. She sat in the Royal Box to see the quarter-final women’s singles match between Elina Svitolina of Ukraine and Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan.
It was a tense match, as the players’ animosity between Ukraine and Russia was evident.

Expert argues for ‘tight unit’ of working royals
“I still hold to the idea that the slimmed-down royal family is indeed the right model for the future,” Jennie Bond, a royal expert and former BBC royal correspondent, told Ok! Magazine.
She argued the approach matched up with that of other European monarchies as well as combatting the “most common complaint” about taxpayer costs.
“Adding new working royals to the payroll will only exacerbate that criticism,” Bond said. “I think the model William has experimented with is the answer: drafting in his cousins here and there (e.g. garden...

Kate’s Stand-In, Prince William, May Also Be Unavailable To Hand Out Trophies
Even if Kate Middleton doesn’t show up, her stand-in, Prince William, may not be available either. His diary depends on Gareth Southgate, an English professional football team manager.
The team could compete in the Euro Championships final at Wimbledon last weekend. If neither attends, former President of the Lawn Tennis Association Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester, and wife of Queen Elizabeth’s cousin, Prince Richard, may have to present trophies.
