“If you fail to choose, the world will perish.”
The name of the Knock At The Cabin poster from Universal Pictures, featuring Dave Bautista, Abby Quinn, Rupert Grint and Nikki Amuka-Bird, is titled “4Horsemen” and in an earlier post, we asked the question: Could they be the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse? Death, Famine, War, and Conquest? Each figure on the poster are holding a different “weapon.” In the Book of Revelation, these Four Horsemen represent a vision of harbingers of the Last Judgment, setting a divine end-time upon the world.
The first horseman rides a white horse, carries a bow, and is given a crown as a figure of conquest, perhaps invoking pestilence, Christ, or the Antichrist. The second carries a sword and rides a red horse as the creator of (civil) war, conflict, and strife. The third, a food merchant, rides a black horse symbolizing famine and carries the scales.

Up next from M. Night Shyamalan is the Paul Tremblay adaptation Knock at the Cabin, and we’ve learned this week that the film will be released with an “R” rating attached to it.
The reason this is notable is because M. Night Shyamalan’s movies tend to be rated “PG-13.” In fact, the only other Shyamalan movie that was rated “R” was The Happening back in 2008, with all other Shyamalan-directed movies being rated “PG-13.” That includes The Sixth Sense, Signs, Unbreakable, The Village, Lady in the Water, Split, The Visit, Glass, and last year’s Old.
Knock at the Cabin has been rated “R” for “Violence and language.”
Universal will release the thriller in theaters on February 3, 2023.
Dave Bautista (Army of the Dead), Rupert Grint (“Servant”) and Nikki Amuka-Bird (Old) star alongside Ben Aldridge (“Pennyworth”) and Jonathan Groff (“Mindhunter”).

A brand new poster is here for M. Night Shyamalan’s new movie Knock At The Cabin.
While vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.
Could they be the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse? Death, Famine, War, and Conquest? Each figure on the poster are holding a different “weapon.” In the Book of Revelation, these Four Horsemen represent a vision of harbingers of the Last Judgment, setting a divine end-time upon the world. This wouldn’t be the Oscar winning director first film on faith with religious overtones. Signs was the story of faith and “there are no coincidences,” Wide Awake was a boy on a metaphorical mission to find God,...

Something apocalyptic is coming in the first trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s Knock at the Cabin.
In the first, nearly three-minute look at the upcoming Universal Pictures movie directed by the Old and Servant helmer, Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge play two fathers who take their daughter (Kristen Cui) on a trip to a cabin in the woods.
But as the family gets settled, their relaxing forest getaway morphs into something out of a nightmare when four people — played by Dave Bautista, Rupert Grint, Nikki Amuka-Bird and Abby Quinn — come knocking and take them hostage. And the reason they’re there might be more frightening than the predicament they’re in.

Exclusive: After working with big-name directors like Denis Villeneuve and Rian Johnson, Dave Bautista has found his next A-list director to work as the Dune actor is in negotiations to star in M. Night Shyamalan’s new top secret pic Knock at the Cabin. Shyamalan will write and direct, and also produce with Ashwin Rajan under the filmmaker’s Blinding Edge Pictures banner alongside Marc Bienstock and Steven Schneider.
Universal recently dated the film to bow on February 3, 2023.
While his most recent film, Old, involved a large ensemble, Shyamalan has always like to have one or two big movie stars anchoring his films — like Bruce Willis, Mark Wahlberg and James McAvoy — and given his track record of great scripts stars are always lining up. Bautista was quick to jump at the opportunity to work with the Oscar-nominated director.

When we say the premise of M. Night Shyamalan’s new film “Old” gets old fast, we mean it literally, as a family trip to a remote beach becomes a nightmare.
“Old” stars Gael García Bernal and Vicky Krieps as two parents who bring their kids on vacation, only to watch as their children age rapidly to become teenagers in the blink of an eye. In fact, every person stuck on this little patch of sand is getting wrinkles and slowing down, and one even suddenly sprouts a pregnant belly.
It’s Shyamalan’s return to a twisty, mind-boggling thriller after scoring some recent hits with “Split” and “Glass,” as well as his Apple TV+ series “Servant.” The film opens in the heat of summer, hitting theaters on July 23.

The New York Latino Film Festival (Nylff) has set their lineup for their forthcoming hybrid edition of its fest which will take place September 14-20.
In the wake of the pandemic, many festivals have either canceled or pivoted to an entirely virtual program. Nylff is one of the Latinx-based film fests that have continued with plans for their annual fest — with the appropriate changes. The 21st edition will be a combination of virtual events and in-person, drive-in screenings that celebrates Latinx creators. The fest will also host the first Latino drive-in experience to take place both in New York and in The Bronx.
This year’s festival features nearly 75 films representing more than 10 countries, spanning all genres including features, shorts, documentaries, web series and experimental films.
“Inspired by the resilience of the Latino community, Nylff is proud to return with a fresh format featuring our first-ever drive-in experiences,” said Calixto Chinchilla,...

Spooky Pictures, the genre label formed by producers Roy Lee (It) and Steven Schneider (Pet Sematary), has set the first production under its multi-picture slate deal with Image Nation Abu Dhabi.
The two companies previously sealed a pact for Middle Eastern outfit Image Nation to finance low-budget genre movies from Spooky Pictures. The debut collaboration will be psychological thriller Watcher, based on an original spec by Zack Ford, which was on the ‘Blood List’ in 2016. Director Chloe Okun, whose 2014 short Slut was a festival hit, has been attached to helm the movie.
Set in the midst of a city-wide panic over an active serial killer, the film follows a young woman who moves into a new apartment with her fiancé only to be tormented by the feeling that she is being stalked by an unseen watcher in an adjacent building.
The pic is now casting ahead of a planned April shoot.
