When the TV series based on the popular video game franchise Twisted Metal made its premiere on the Peacock streaming service back in July, it quickly became one of Peacock’s top five original series, racking up 400 million viewing minutes in its first weekend and earning the honor of being the streamer’s “most-binged” premiere. Now season 2 is moving full steam ahead, and showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith (who also happens to be a writer on Cobra Kai) has given Syfy Wire an update, saying the writers room has been assembled for season 2 and he feels they’re going to deliver something wild.
Smith is excited to be working with characters like Dollface, Mr. Grimm, and Axel, although working a couple of those into the grounded world established in the first season presents a challenge. As he said, “(Mr. Grimm) is my favorite and I’m excited to capture what the fans are excited about seeing,...

Peacock Original series “Twisted Metal” has unleashed a brand new “explicit” trailer this afternoon, labeled as such for one particularly gory scene featuring the villain Sweet Tooth.
The latest trailer for Peacock’s action-comedy series also puts the spotlight on the automobile action you’d expect from a “Twisted Metal” series, which surprisingly hasn’t been much of a focal point of the marketing up to this point. Watch the brand new trailer below.
“Twisted Metal” premieres on July 27, 2023, only on Peacock.

Peacock has released a trailer for its forthcoming series Twisted Metal — two of them, actually, one of which is billed as a “clean version” and bleeps out a number of profanities.
But if you’re interested in a series based on the Twisted Metal video game series, a few curse words probably aren’t going to be an issue.
The trailer offers a much larger look at the series, which stars Anthony Mackie as delivery driver John Doe, than an earlier teaser did. John sets the scene with voiceover narration: “Twenty years ago, the world fell to shit. Cities put up walls to protect themselves and threw the criminals out to fight over what was left.”
John is hired (by guest star Neve Campbell’s character) to pick up and deliver a package to New San Francisco. Along the way, he takes on a passenger (Stephanie Beatriz) — who hitches a...

Peacock's take on the Twisted Metal franchise looks to have nailed the tone of the beloved Playstation video game series.
The streaming service went public with the official trailer Monday morning, boasting a compelling post-apocalyptic tale with fine acting and comedy.
There's plenty of comedy, and the series has picked an excellent cast to tell this thrilling tale.
In this universe, the government erected big walls to close certain people out of the big cities, leaving everyone else to fight for what's outside.
It's a decent concept that seemingly translates very well to the screen.
Anthony Mackie plays John Doe on the series, a man well-known for finding things.
He's tasked with completing a missing for Neve Campbell's Raven, and his demands for payment aren't what you'd expect from someone battling for survival.
Along the way, he meets Stephanie Beatriz' Quiet, a lady who doesn't speak very much... until she's caught up in conflict.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the A Million Little Things Season 5 premiere “The Last Dance.”] There are a million little reasons we’re going to miss A Million Little Things, and number one is the friend group, which the final season premiere highlights in a major way. Everyone rallies around Gary (James Roday Rodriguez), not just when it comes to his cancer diagnosis (things are looking up by the end) — “sorry about bringing the entourage, it’s just that our friend group are very invested in each other’s lives,” he tells his doctor when they all join him for an appointment — but also after his father, Javier (Paul Rodriguez), unexpectedly passes away. Meanwhile, Anna (Erin Karpluk) gets out of prison but leaves town for a fresh start, meaning Eddie’s (David Giuntoli) single again, and Rome (Romany Malco) finds out his father Walter (Lou Beatty Jr.) has dementia. "If you can rock these bones, you can start a cult." After all the other sports have been mocked in comedies, what's left? They just did ladies arm wrestling, now it's time for dominoes! TriCoast Ent. has released an official trailer for an indie titled Domino: Battle of the Bones, a new sports comedy about the little black and white tiles. A fallen domino champion from Compton enlists his savant, white, step-grandson to help him win an off-the-wall and shady as hell dominoes tournament in the hopes of reclaiming his former hood glory. Domino: Battle of the Bones stars multi-award winning actor David Arquette, along with Snoop Dogg, Lou Beatty Jr., Tasie Lawrence, Megan Sousa, Anthony 'Scruncho' McKinley, Tom 'Tiny' Lister Jr., Godfrey, and Haha Davis. And featuring original music by Bart Oatmeal and Mike & Keys. This doesn't look like a knock out, but it does look like fun, with plenty of ridiculous domino-related humor.

*full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by writer Ryan A. Levin. Director: Jack Perez. Writer: Ryan A. Levin. Cast: Kevin Corrigan, Barry Bostwick, Karen Black, Leo Fitzpatrick, Ariel Gade, Eric Price, Lucy Davis, and Lou Beatty Jr. Some Guy Who Kills People is a successful film primarily for combining so many genres. Genres noted by this reviewer included: comedy, horror, revenge thriller, romance and family. It is hard for some filmmakers to nail one genre. Writer Ryan A. Levin, director Jack Perez and the rest of the crew bring six genres to life. There are a lot of layers here. There is also a lot of murder. Part serial killer film, Some Guy Who Kills People is more about the humanness of relationships and the struggles inherently therein. The story follows Kenny (Kevin Corrigan). He has recently been released from a psychiatric ward for depression and suicidal tendencies.

Director: Jack Perez Writer: Ryan Levin Starring: Kevin Corrigan, Barry Bostwick, Karen Black, Leo Fitzpatrick, Ariel Gade, Lucy Davis, Eric Price, Lou Beatty Jr. Will Kevin Corrigan -- the indie film darling who was rivaled only by Steve Buscemi in his near-infinite number of quirky supporting roles clocked in during the 1990s -- ever live down "that ugly guy" (Walking and Talking) moniker? Probably not -- because as Some Guy Who Kills People's Ken, Corrigan becomes one of the ugliest characters of them all. A 34-year old, socially awkward, sad-sack loser -- oh, and former mental patient -- Ken works at a local ice cream parlor and lives with his disapproving mom (Karen Black). Otherwise, Ken just keeps to himself and sketches fantastical images of himself murdering the high school bullies who tortured him as a teenager, made him suicidal and essentially got him away in the loony bin for god knows how long.
