Her father was a comic who performed in the Catskills.
She met Halston at a party in New York, which led to a friendship, a
job in his store on Madison Avenue, and a job as one of his models (in
spite of the fact she weighed 210 pounds).

tragedy. Berenson was planning Ast's 60th birthday party, which, sadly,
neither would live to see.
Played a mean school teacher in Motley Crue's video "Smokin' In the
Boys Room" which was similar to her character Edna in Reform School
Girls (1986)
